A special thanks to the arrogant little bastard who defaced my bike!

In nearly 60 years of riding I have had zero problems with anyone messing with my bikes....until 3 days ago when I discovered a blob of mud on the rear bumper of my Freewheeler. It puzzled me how it got there until I wiped it off and saw the scrapes, it was obvious someone thought my bike was their personal boot scrape.

I have no idea where or even when this happened so there is nothing I can do to maybe get an ID on this jerk, instead I'm choosing to treat it as a lesson to self....there are self centered, disrespectful people out there who love to display their ignorance by mistreating others....I will keep this in mind and when I park and will no longer park off to the side (thinking that might help protect my bike) but directly in front of the windows where I can keep an eye on it! :xzqxz:

In the meantime I'm going to try the aluminum foil coca cola method of removing scratches from chrome....anyone have any knowledge of this?

Generation of Swine.Came out of the drug store and there's a man bun, skinny jean wearing SoyBoy with his foot on my trike bumper talking to his equally femmised buddy.I asked him if he would like a steel toe suppository? They both scurried off.Never heard of the Coca-Cola thing.

Just Googled it, looks like the coke/alum. foil deal is more of a rust remover.

Dan, that shows a HUGE lack of respect for others

I guess this is what they have been taught, it sure does not make:( it right
They are just like thire parents. Thire hair sucks.Thire music sucks.Thire little buzz bomb cars suck.Thire tattoos suck.Thire clothes suck. They suck-on electronic dildos inhaling flavored steam deriving what pleasure I can't fathom.

Sorry to hear that Dan. I always (try) park were I can see it, but I have trust issues.

I'm not going to get all hung up on it, and can't say I'm disappointed in the little jerk that did it....it's what I would expect out of that type of person....we refer to them as 'grits', they see something nice and they have to leave their 'grit stain' on it. I don't have to wish bad things to happen to him....bad things are on the way, they're coming like a freight train!

I hear your trust issues MDO and raise you a few....this is how they get created! And yes, I will park it where I can see it from now on! ;)

I'm guessing it couldn't have been the innocent act of a curious child.

That never occurred to me but I'm thinking it's not likely to be the case. The store where I believe it happened (actually the only possibility where it could have happened) has a fair number of grits hanging out and passing thru....this has 'grit signature' written all over it.

It's just one of those unfortunate situations that you hope don't occur but have to live with if they do. I can't go back there and start kicking grits all over the place...as rewarding as that might be...chalk it up to the result of having crossed paths with a low life and move on. Grits are everywhere these days and hard to avoid.

Add my sympathies to the mix...... It is unbelievable how so many have so little regard for just common courtesy. Sorry Dan, good luck with the restoration

Thanks FB! Yes there isn't the general niceness that there was just a few years ago, a shame really.

I tried some different products, Mother's metal polish worked the best but only removed the really fine scratches, the deeper ones were untouched. They are pretty small and hard to spot so it will bother me less & less as time goes on, besides other little rock chips and things are occurring (I live on a dirt road) so the new pristine-ness is quickly disappearing anyhow.

Altho that's not the point....the point is some little grit came into 'my zone' and messed with my stuff....and that, I'll just have to treat as a lesson and move on, as distasteful as the idea is! :gah:

Sorry to [hear/read] about low lives that live to ruin the happiness of all others....Just the other day I was driving an old junky lender car, that I was giving to drive while my car was being fixed... I parked it in a Walmart parking lot at the very end of the property, for two reasons #1 I needed the walk to get to the store.. and #2 even though this car was a junk, it was not mine, and I didn't want anything to happen to it......WELL WOULDN'T YOU KNOW IT, some azzhole park right beside it, the drivers door was 6 inches away from my car, and no way possible to open his door without hitting my rental car....I looked around and there had to be at least 500+ parking spots open , and no other cars were within 50ft of mine.. I couldn't believe it.....:mad: there he was 6 inches from my car..............ugggggggggggggggg!

It boggles the mind Ronnie, it REALLY DOES!! I had to make a stop at a bank a few years ago so I parked my VMax at the very end of a row of 6 parking spots (to insure that nothing happened to it!!) Well, some brain dead little cutie drove by 5 empty parking spots and backed into the 6th one knocking my bike over, literally wrapping the 4 - 1 Hindle HP Muffler around the right hand shock!! THEN decided she really didn't want to do any banking after all and started to take off! Some local kid ran over banging on the top of her car yelling at her to stop, then came in the bank and got me. I called the cops, had a complete report drawn up and went after her insurance for every single blemish she caused (uncharacteristic for me as I'm usually a "aw, don't worry about it, I can fix it" kind of guy....NOT THIS TIME!!).

Got a check for $1600 from her insurance co, I had most of the parts needed to fix it, made a muffler out of 3" aluminum tube for $20 or so and pocketed the rest. If she'd a come in the bank to tell me what happened I bet I'd have let her off a lot easier but....'you get what you give sometimes'! :xzqxz:

This kind of stuff makes me shake my head. I just don’t understand some people.

A few years ago, I got a brand new car. It was a Mazda Miata hard top convertible. I loved that car :D A couple of days after I got it I went shopping and parked it in a normal parking space with everyone else. The car was so small that you’d have to try really hard to hit it with a door. It turns out that door dings were not what I should have been thinking about. There was a group of teenagers a couple rows over, hanging out. I didn’t think anything of it. When I came out to my brand new car there were foot prints all over it :xzqxz: Even on the roof :gah: The teenagers were long gone. They were actually running over the top of my car. Never saw that coming. Luckily, apart from some dirty foot prints, there was no other damage.

I’m sorry that happened to you Dan.

Holy cow TG, that's crazy! Sure doesn't do much for your faith in humanity does it! Really glad they didn't damage your new little Miata, other than that colossal display of disrespect.
