The meeting at the restaurant was a Texas branch of Confederation of Clubs, an organization sponsored by a motorcycle attorney firm, to promote communication and peace between motorcycle clubs. A bit ironic, that.

It is interesting reading some of the biker blogs with a 1% leaning - the spin there is a fight started in the restroom (not over a parking spot as some news articles state), probably by an undercover agent of the BTAF or other agency, then when the fight went outside they were shot down by assorted government agents.
Here is another take on the government conspiracy aspect. This includes the Aging Rebel article but different comments:

Do you have any facts to support this government conspiracy view? The fact that the law enforcement was there is not a conspiracy. When known criminals are meeting it is only good law enforcement to be there. How would you like to have seen law enforcement respond? Just let them fight it out and take to jail the survivors? What if some bystander got hurt, then the response would of been why didn't law enforcement do anything. I think they did exactly what they should of. When the confrontation came outside and weapons were started to being used you take out the aggressors and the whole thing comes to an end post haste. Yes there were people killed. That is sad, but there sure as heck were going to be people killed and it might have been bystanders. These motorcycle clubs are filled with criminals. These are not HOG members, or American Legion Riders or clubs of this type. There is a difference in caring a weapon for protection and caring one because you are going to be the aggressor.
