8 Digit Number ?

While installing my 14 Inch Pro Action shocks and Comfort lift for the 14's from DK Custom, I noticed a 8 digit number embossed on the right side into the pinch block that the new lift bracket/shock mount bolts to. Is this a number that HD adds as an additional way to check for altered or stolen frames or trikes? Or, I guess it could just be a number HD uses for inventory and records? I know vehicle manufacturers have hidden numbers in several places for investigators to examine to determine the correct VIN for the vehicle. Of course a lot of thieves know where they are also. These 8 numbers do not match anything in my VIN, engine, or frame numbers etc.
