Can anyone tell me how the 6 pin trailer harness is wired? This is on a 1988 Goldwing 1500 with a Motor Trike conversion. Attached is a pic of it.
Thank You in advance for the help!

Larry I use to have that same style connector. They did not come with pin usage so I just did what I wanted.. Left turn, right turn, running lights, break lights, ground, and + 12 volts. If you don't have a 12 volt troubleshooting light, they are found at any auto parts store. Hook the alligator clip on a good ground then test each connector pin.

I have since switched to 6 pin round connectors so I could mount them better.

Hope all that makes sense and helps.. :xszpv::xszpv:

I also use the round 6 pin connector but I do not use the center pin. I do not need it. I use it as a 5 pin connector.
Like Gold Rush said it is easier to mount plus more secure.

I just thought of something....... There are two different size six pin round connectors. The large one commonly used on truck and full size trailers can be used but they are cumbersome and ugly.

I found some on line that are nearly the size of the five pin connectors. I'm away from home for a couple days but will post link when I get home...:xzqxz:

I would still suggest the tried and true method of meter and leads. You just don't know for sure how the other end your working with was wired. So why waste time identify the leads yourself and wire the new end accordingly. Probably quicker end the end anyway.

Thanks for the info guys, I do have a test light and an ohm meter. I'll check it out this week. I have a trailer that I pull with my Valkyrie. I have it wired for a four flat plug, thus the request for an adapter. And by the way, I DO live in East China, which is just East of China Mi. and due West of Canada!
