Good luck with the surgery Robert, wife has had both shoulders worked on, rehab is a lot of work but well worth it.

Walked in at 0545 wheeled out at 1100 (policy) requires a ride to the car.

All went well. No lifting period over 10 lbs. No riding the motorcycle. Follow up is June 16th doc said we will go over limits then.

They offered a supply of pain meds . Left them all there. I feel better now than I have in the last 2 years already.

Well he did not say i can't ride in the sidecar.

I have been ask many times what it is like to ride in the sidecar. I have never ridden in this one, I am always the one driving.

I have a friend that I trust to drive it. he has driven it before. I to time get in and have him give me a ride in it.

Next must do ride is August Road glide gathering. AKA Shark week This year it is in Appleton WI. 70 miles from home.

Reservation already made 6 months ago.

Because it is only 70 miles away we are planning to ride to Indiana., Meet some others heading this way then make a loop and head back. So much going on we are staying in Appleton for the week.



The Patti's run in October. Week of riding out of Clarksville TN over into KY . Yearly event I make some times wife goes sometimes not. One of those events you come when you want leave when you must. Each day is open to change.

Some time riders split off and make different rides .

There will be others but these are must happen. And reservations already made.

14 days. Oh yes The Gathering AKA Shark Week. Every year we gather the Road Glide riders. Once out casts our number grow ever year.

Each year the Gathering is in a different state. This year it is Appleton WI 1-4 August. Some that are coming are leaving in the next few days heading this way. Friends from different parts of the country are meeting up en-route.

We have to be careful how we use the words shark week as some other group referring to real sharks get all bent out of shape about it.

The Road Glide faring has long been known as the Shark.

Shark Week was great. A amazing number showed up this year representing most of the country.

Next year it is in Williamsburg VA. Planing is already in the works to be there.

7 days and a wake up. 9th Annual Pattie's run. A meet up with other Road glide riders. Not a national event more regional.

An event I look forward to every year.

The event is simple. Come when you can leave when you must. Relax and ride. We stay at Clarksville TN. Ride the area there and around land between the lakes.

This year wife will not be going along. Last minute things have come up and she has chosen not to go.

The ride down is about 630 miles. Depending on route. However phone may ring and detours are made to met up with others.

In the end we end up there.

Get out and ride. Alone,with friends or with new friends. Just ride. next month next year maybe to late.

Patti's run went great. Good ride down . Great weather all week. The ride home was 630 miles and 510 miles of that was in a down pour.

Second half of October has been good for riding. A bit cool on some days in the morning and later evening. Lowest riding temps around 30 degrees. Nice during the mid day 50-60.

January in Wisconsin. Good time to look at the must do and want to do rides for 2023. Get reservation made for some of it. Getting both eyes worked on in JAN and Feb. So I should be able to see where the heck I am going this year.

Made appointment to have a new convertible top made for the sidecar. In first week of March . Wisconsin to Kentucky likely to be on the cooler side and some snow. Mind make up to get it done.

Last half of May two weeks . Ride out to Williamsburg VA for annual Road Glide rally AKA Shark Week. Great time of year to ride that area. This will be the first time in many years we missed going to TN at that time.

September 10th annual Pattie's run. A week of riding Clarksville TN and KY area we do every year.

USCA national Sidecar rally in IA is on the want to make list. Few things to work around to allow it.

Looking for a slot of time for trip to eastern TN in.

Get out and ride. Even if it is just across the state or across town for a good cup of coffee. Before you know it things outside your control will stop you from riding . Then it is to late.

It will never work can't be done. 5 years latter still having a blast with it.

Wife was going to mail Granddaughters birthday card. No way, that sounds like a 280 mile round trip ride to make sure it gets there.

Let a friend of mine know what was going on . All he ask was what time we leaving. He rolled in to driveway next morning it was 48 degrees and down the road we go. Warmed up to 58 and was a great day to ride.

Card delivered. And by time we got home it turned into almost 400 miles.

Ride while you can. You never know when time runs out.

Shark Week 2023 is almost here. The gathering of Road Glide riders. This year Williamsburg VA.

May 23rd .

Needed to add an extra day to trip out. Wife has little bit of a back issue so shortened up the miles per day by a 1/3.

Looking forward to VA have not been back in several years.

Shark week was great. Great ride great people. Total trip was 3120 miles. Not drop of rain. Cool prefect riding both directs.

Having dinner on the deck of the USS Wisconsin was cool. Every state we crossed needs to get so LE out issuing tickets.

Cars running 90-100 miles on main roads tail gating .

Trip home was a different route than we took going out. We were not sure how many miles wife could handle. We left a day early and split trip out in to 3 days of about 320 or so a day. Stayed on the Main toll route east and south at DC.

Coming wife wanted to be back for Granddaughter graduation . We came back a mix of roads across VA,WV OH, IN, IL and WI.

We made amazing time considering the stops we made for wife to take a break. It was alos a pretty good ride on the route back.

Wife wants a ride to Gatlinburg TN in August. Yall know how it goes wife gets what she wants.

Looks like lodging will be tight around the time we are looking at. But there is always a way to work it out.

Fl,TN ride is on. All en-route reservation have been made at fair rates. It took some shopping to avoid over paying. Some place were down right out of their minds with rates over double

what you would expect. In one case must have been a big event going on. A motel that normally would have maxed at $150 was $965 a night. Motel 6 I know for a fact is a crack house was $165 a night.

No for me I just altered the route a little and avoided that.

Setup a day to look around Savannah GA en-route north . Lived in Glenco GA just south of it 49 years ago. I am assuming the area has changed a bit.

Get out ride this country while you can. There is a movement coming that wants to restrict your ability to travel. Get out ride see why that is a bad idea. Don't waste a day of your freedom.

Almost all are loaded with section eight occupants. It is what it is so you make the stop and take your chances.

There and back 3,600 miles. Riding while there who knows expect it to be alot. But it will be great.

Three plans one if wife goes one if she don't and one if I fly her out to meet me there.

Have not done more that an 800 mile day in awhile. If wife flies out or does not go . Plan to do 1005 miles day one and 800 the next.

If she rides out will do it in 3 days.

It has been some years sense going that far west. Just had no real reason to do so. Shark week presented the reason.

Have a feeling the turn out is going to be big . No other event is like Road Glide.org aka the Shark.

Fall is here

Fall is here been cool and mild so far. Still time for some riding.

House did not get painted this year as planned. Riding got in the way.

Maybe get it done in spring.

Time to review next season and see what else can be slipped in.

So far May 2 weeks Eastern TN. Just a time to relax and enjoy the area.

September week in Clarksville/KY dam area. Next year will be year 11 of making this meet up.

August 2 weeks ST George UT. Shark Week Gathering of the Road Glides

Wife has decided to pass on this trip. Just to hot that time of year.

Need to figure out a couple of rides to Indiana . Couple of old friends are reaching the point where riding is coming to an end for them. Need to spend time with them.

The ride will end for us all at some time. Don't quit until you are ready.
