2021 Tri Glide Owners check-in

Hammock Seat

To post SNAKE VENOM 2021 by New Orleans Kevin: We have a 2021 TriGlide Ultra as well. Where did you find the Hammock Seat? Agree, headlight is no good, will change. We purchased latter Apr 2021 and just turned 6.5K. Love the 10” Freedom Shield, too.

Picked up the Hammock Seat from Surdyke.com for 478.00 . I offered the local dealer to price match but they wouldn’t. Only waited about two weeks back in March . Lots of parts are harder to get now, but I’m being patient. I love the Hammock Seat. My lighting all came from Direct Cycle Parts- great pricing there and Custom Dynamics products are awesome. I’ve got the Freedom Touring 12 in. Welcome TexasBilly!

Just traded my '06 Goldwing Motor Trike for the '21 Tri Glide Thursday the 4th so only 160 miles thus far. Friggin' rain is insufferable! This is my first Harley so obviously lot's of differences, mostly good and some will just take some getting used to coming from a Wing. Agree that the high beam is useless. I did have the dealer do the flash Friday for constant aux lights, which helps. Waiting on backrest, passenger arm rests, and heel shifter arm to come in. Now have to save up some more cash for other goodies. My Christmas list is a lot longer now! ;) My only real complaint is the amount of heat coming off the exhaust. It may just take some getting used to or I may have to do something to curtail it. Looking forward to many Happy miles and smiles!

new one

Picked up my 2021 Gaultlet Grey and Vivid Black on September 17 from Destination Daytona and road it home to Charleston, SC 2 days later. Have already swapped out the seat, tail lights. Added ciro3d lights to the back, and put on fender bras. This week it's getting the bars swapped out to Khrome Werks 2+2's.

dawingrider,

There are some little things called ‘floor board spacers’ out there that I have put on both of my Harleys. They move the floor boards out away from the engine and pipes, which allows a little more air flow between your legs and the exhaust. When my Tri comes in, they will be in the shop waiting to be installed on it.

Hope they will help you at least take some of the heat off.

Thanks Jim - As a matter of fact, since my post I ordered "spacers" from DK Custom Products along with their "cool wings". They certainly do make a difference!

Bought mine March 3rd . Despite daily rains and now extreme heat warnings , I've managed to put 3295.0 miles on mine.

So far I've changed all lights to Custom Dynamics LED and added the vent trim with light on the fairing, the trim with lights across the top the fairing and the additional lights that go on the bottom of the rear fenders . All rear lights run through magic strobes flasher for extra attention. I've also changed out to a hammock seat, added the legends lift kit, changed to a Freedom Touring 12 in windshield, added the v twin goodies rider floorboard extensions, the DK 1.5 tank lift kit, the DK cooling wings, the HD rear bumper with the Kuryakyn bracket covers and Khrome Werks mufflers with performer baffles.

Most of what I did was for my comfort , but the headlight/passing lamps change was, for me , a requirement since the stock headlight was terrible. With the LED I can see five times further. The trike suspension is terrible, to me, thus the Hammock seat and lift kit, new shocks are next in order as LA and New Orleans streets are terrible and the SO rode on the back the other night for the first time and complained about how terrible the ride is. I already knew new shocks were coming but now they are a priority. The floorboard extensions were a great addition as my feet are now using the whole floor board not just half of it.

Engine heat and the primary drip are also an issue that will be addressed soon.

I'm also planning an upgraded sound system,; at 80-90 mph the stock system gets drowned out by road noise. Also i love the painted inner fairings and will have that done along with a more comfortable set of handlebars as soon as possible.

Once out of warranty a camchest kit with torque cam and tune will be added. but that time isn't here yet.

Overall I'm loving the trike and can't wait to actually do a long haul on her.

Kevin,

If you're going to go for the painted inner fairing (I had mine done last year) check out the vender called Fairing Xchange( fairing xchange.com) from Port Orange, Florida. You set up an appointment date at the rally location of your choice and send $100 advanced deposit to guarantee your color will be on the truck, and just show up and they will exchange your stock fairing for a new painted one for around $500. They did my trike in less than 45 minute for the swap-out and I couldn't be happier. Highly recommended.

Good Luck with the new ride--gunfighter

I've had Paul and his crew at THe Fairing Exchange swap out my inner fairings on my 2013 ElectraGlide, 2017 Street Glide Special and soon the 21 Triglide. They also do a ton of other stuff - KST bars, sound, lighting, , etc. and do fantastic work , quickly. They did my Rokker XXR on my 17 SGS and its awesome. A painted inner makes a bike pop!

Just to follow-up.. After the handle bars swap I headed straight back to Daytona for Biketoberfest where I had Progessive swap out the shocks with their 444's.

Yesterday took the bike in for it's 1k service (actually had 1200 on it). I think the only thing I'm going to add for a while will be the 12v power outlet in the tourpak as that is where I keep my phone.

Hopefully the fuel mileage settles down to a better average.

Jim - How were you able to install mud flaps without drilling holes for the studs?

Hey Kevin - Laissez les bon temps rouler!

What are the wings you have just above your lowers?

The " wings" are from DK products and are designed to channel the wind across the engine and reduce buffeting. I did those and a 1.5 deluxe tank lift and now more of my engine shows, there's more air flow across the top and its a bit cooler I believe. Sorry i took so long to reply i havent been on in a while

Just picked up new trike

We ordered the trike July 1st and just picked it up 2 days ago. Took it to a friend in the Santiam canyon to keep it for us till our house is rebuilt after the fire. getting close. Maybe 2 months and we have a home to go back to. I didn't have a lot of time to ride it but I look forward to putting on some miles.
