When would that put you in the UP if im home from my trip could ride with ya across UP or all the way to Dayton Im looking at the AF Museum trip as well.
Still in the planing stages. We will prob. decide in Kerrville when we will start the trip. I 'm thinking early to mid June on meeting Lola on Rt 66 in Ill somewhere. After that we won't do too much planning as she will want to see stuff on 66. May only make 200-300 a day & May spend a couple days in one place. You are more than welcome to hook up with us to ride to AF museum. We might even go there with you. Have not been in several years & it has expanded a lot. 2-3 days to see everything I bet. They have free parking there & museum is free also, i guess it has not changed. Are you going to be in Kerrville ?
About Kerrville I'd like to make it if I can get out of the snow, some years we get it till mid May. Will know more about 13 April with a 5 day favorable weather forecast. My trip to Ca will start early Jun and will follow I90 with a lot of side trips(Rushmore, Yellowstone, Beartooth and Olympia air museum)we'll probably cross pass some where. First long trip and I don't want it to hurt.
Remind me when we are in Kerrville about your trip and maybe I can show you a good ride between Flagstaff and Kingman, AZ.

In Michigan's LP, I think the west side is much better for scenery. We can ride with you for a ways and show you. Text or call me for possible routes. Lola has my number.
We are leaving Dayton on the 16th for Kerrville
Lola, Keeping fingers crossed for the ride in Jun. We can always go a little later,if we have to.
So, how many weeks will you be on the road?

Well, no way to know Pat. Lola has never been on Rt 66 so we will take it slow & stop at all the places for her to visit. No schedule or resv's. We will just plan day to day for a leisurely ride .Once we leave Oatman,Az. will prob cover more ground a day . Just scenic riding from that point. We will ride up to Wa.state & run Rt 2 back to the UP of Mi & down across Mackinaw Bridge. WHY,? You want to go with us ?? You are more than welcome. We will be doing the ride that was in Hog Tales issue next to last issue, except we will be riding it west to east .
LOLA, Well ,no Kerrville.. I guess we have to wait & see when we can even leave on this trip. Makes no diff to me. We will just have to get on the phone one day & have maps handy. WE can decide then where to meet. If it gets hot, well thats why we bought the cooling vests.
If we are able to do Kerrville in the fall, we can always meet up someplace like we did last year and loop around. I would enjoy seeing my cousins in Kansas. I am sure Kay and Jim would like to see you and Janiene again.
Will check it out. They are east side of Wichita, right
have you seen the weather for this summer? Looks like may be very HOT. If it does not change, I may just do the Rt 2 ride from Mi to Wa & back a diff Rt up north. Thoughts ??
Janiene does have issues with heat. Came close to passing out a couple times in Nv. If we have to there is always next year to leave earlier in the season. We can loop around to see the cousins on the way to Kville if it is held this Fall.
Next year will work for me for our Route 66 ride unless something else comes up. When it's very hot, I have to ride predawn until I can't take it even with my hydration vest to get back to San Antonio. I have learned to stop and seek shelter prior to getting too overheated.
If we loop around to Kerrville this fall I think we should NOT do Palo Duro Canyon again, however it was fun riding through little towns like Panhandle where I lived when I was in 3rd grade.
No to the Canyon, not that great anyway. Az, NM & Nv were showing triple digits already. If we go rt 2 you could just meet up here . from here 127 north to Mi & on to the mackinac bridge & up to 2 & head west. Really hope the weather changes but there is always . I saved that issue of Hog Tales & got one for you at the dealer to gove to you in April. Well that didn't happen.
