Hello every one out there

Its been a while since I have posted anything. anyway just wondering if any one has had the gas cap lock up when trying to remove in order to put gas. I have had to use pliers several times to remove the gas cap, I try not to over tighten the cap when I screw it back on, it still locks up at times I welcome any INFO.

Thanks

If its the same as on my 2011 Tri.....The cap ratchets so if you ratchet it too many times it sometimes locked up...I found out just a click or two was all it needed ...

Harley had a known issue with the gas caps. Check with your dealer. They might give you a new one. I had a similar issue on my 2016 TG and the service dept gave me a new one.

I had the same problem with my 2016 TG. I was told they received a bad batch of gas caps. HD gave me a new one also.

Don't over fill the fuel tank .overfilling can cause the gas cap to come in contact with fuel. With the new fuels having ethanol blended with them the ethanol causes the plastic to swell. Most of time we fuel on the way home from ride and it will sit in it few days.im lucky the gas station down the road has ethanol free 93 octane
