Paul not quite sure what you mean by is it worth it to buy a 1015. The 15 and 16 are basicly the same except for the paint colors. If you can get a new 15 at a good price then yes it would be worth it. Can I suggest that see if they will let you rent one first to see what you and the wife think. If you have any experience on an ATV Snowmobile or Wave Runner then you will have some idea on how they steer and not lean to go around corners. Spend sometime in a large parking lot doing figure "8"'s to get the hang of it. Your wife will find it a much more gratifying experience because of not having to learn to lean with the bike and the getting on and off a 2 wheeler. If after renting one for a day you should know if it's going to work for you. Most say a resounding yes. Good Luck

I only know one couple that might be a example. He had a Street Glide and his wife refused to ride with him. He traded it for a Tri Glide and she has been riding with him ever since. That sounds like it's worth it to me unless you don't really want her with you.

Or in my case I brought a Spyder home thinking I wouldn't be able to ride a two wheeler in the near future. Handed the key to my wife and that's the last time I got to ride the Spyder. I think that was worth it too.

I'm not the guy he's talking about, but the story is the same for me. Substitute ANY motorcycle with 2 wheels and that would be it. As soon as I bought the TG, she actually wanted to ride. Found babysitters so we COULD ride. She loves it. I have a lot of fun with her and it's actually drawn us closer together. I'm very happy with the purchase of our TG.

Hope this helps.

Welcome aboard Paul, like others have said, rent a triglide for 1/2 day or all day, then you and the Misses will know what to do.

If you've never owned a motorcycle of any kind, you need to test drive a trike somewhere with very little traffic and have an experienced rider ride along with you. I would think your area dealer would accommodate this if he thought you were serious about buying a trike from them.

Better still, take the motorcycle safety course closest to you and if at all possible take it on a trike. And then take your 1st dealer demo ride without your wife aboard so you can get used to it before the wife rides with you, that way she will feel safer and more confidant when she takes her first test ride with you. Just my 2 cents.
