Tried out one of the 2012's yesterday..... SWEET!!!!! This will be my first Trike... with bad knees, no other option. Have been without a bike for a lot of years...

Any suggestions or questions I should ask?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You will love being out on the road again :)
Allow yourself a few miles (200 to 500) to get really comfortable with the steering, but you'll soon be struggling to keep the silly grin off your face!

Glad you found one. I ordered mine over a month ago, and am picking it up in a couple hours. The next two to come are already sold as well. Same for another dealer nearby.

This was the first one they received. They have a Red one and a Black one on the way.... hopefully I can close the deal on the one they have, this week...

welcome aboard, glad you joined us. you will only say why did I wait so long.

see if you can get a S&s direct cam put in. that sure makes a difference in performance.then you don't have to wory about the stock cam shoe wear.

Closed the deal and pick it up this Friday. Was a little surprised at the cost of insurance..over $800 a year...

Insurance for me and my wife is $413. Not sure about your driving history or other factors, but if you're older than 30, and have a pretty clean driving record, that seems rather high.

Been through several insurance companies on several bikes........they keep jumping the rate on me by over a hundred bucks on the second year. This year I have Geico and they have low-bid all the others by over a hundred bucks ($484). We will see what happens with them when I renew next April.

Wow $800 per year is a bit steep. I have both a 2006 Ultra Classic and my 2010 Triglide along with my car and home through Allstate. The insurance on both the bike and trike together is about $340 per year if I remember correctly, and I have some pretty high limits and $500 co-pay.

Not sure who you bought the insurance from but you should be able to do a little better than that unless you have some violations on your record. Also, depending on the state you live in, you can get some discounts with a motorcycle endorsement on your license and after taking a safety class. ENJOY the trike! I thought I would never......never say never!

The policy is from Progressive (where I have all of my insurance) Clean driving record.... 64 yrs old... There are 3 big ticket items on the policy..... $332 Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury......$106 Liability to others.... $213 Collision (with $500 deductible) ... seems high to me...

I cleaned up some of the coverage and ended up with a price of $418 per year...Sweet!!!! Take care of the insurance tomorrow and pick up the trike Friday... Thanks everyone for some great input...

Update..... Well I have almost 1,000 miles on it and it runs like a champ. Did have an issue with the trunk door not latching and when it did latch it would fall open while riding...a little shot of WD 40 and problem solved... Only other complaint is trying to find Neutral when the engine is running...virtually impossible. turn off the engine and no problem. It does run hot but I put highway pegs on it and it does help somewhat..I take it in tomorrow for its 1,000 service.... Thanks for all the good info....

It'll get easier as you put on more miles. Plus, many of us use Redline heavy-duty shockproof oil in the tranny.... used this on all my Harleys. Also have them adjust clutch during your 1000 mile service (which they should do anyway).

2012 Triglide insured with Allstate, 490.00 annually with 1K deductable.
It must differ State to State, we are all good driver's right :D

I think your right about the state to state difference. I'm insuring a 2006 Ultra Classic and a 2010 Triglide with $500 deductible and some pretty high limits for $418.00.
