I replaced my own tri glide ultra rear brake switch unstead of flatbedding it 80 miles for recall work. In the process, I tilted the trike enough that the alarm flashers went off. I now cant get it to start. I have a new battery, fully charged, but when I try to start it, I get no starter action, and the hazard lights flash alternately. Horn and lights are fine. I tried shifting in and out of low gear with the ignition on---no help. Any suggestions? BTW it is equipped with electric reverse.

Any help greatly appreciated.

This might sound like a stupid question Mike, but do you have your security fob with you when you try to start ? Been there done that !!pepper
If you do, try taking the fob away from it & try the manual over ride for the alarm. Enter the code in the radio for your security pass. If that works try the fob again, you might have a dead battery in the fob.
Be sure & have the bike level.

If you disconnected the battery while you were working on the brakes did you use the proper sequence for disconnect, & connect ? Just a thought....

IF your turn signals flash when you turn on the ignition, your alarm is activated. If the key fob is close by, the battery may have gone, you can replace it. Hopefully you changed, or know the security code to de-activate the alarm

Good Luck!

Do you have the bike back on level ground?? Is the FOB Close by?? did you disconnect any wires??
If its still dont start try rocking the bike...

I carry a spare battery for the fob. I have had to give one to a friend before so his would start. I bought a six pak of 2032 batteries then and keep then in the tour pak.)

I would REALLY suggest you input an override code in the alarm. IF you lose or break that fob 1000 miles from home you are screwed. It is a simple procedure using the turn signal switches. If you don't have the owners manual you can google up the procedure.

Thanks to all who replied. security fob was the problem. Follow Screwball's advice and carry spare cr 2032's. Replace them every year---my first replacement was out of date. Heed Screwball's advice about disabling security system. Write the sequence down in that note book you carry all your passwords in, and keep the note book with you---right next to your carry, if you have one.

Mike.

Tried the reset per the owners manual for my Tri Glide after aggressive corner shut me down and gave tip warning. Reset didn't work after 5 consecutive attempts. Ordered a new Bank Angle Switch from Harley, installed it yesterday and it fired right up. Install was easy and saved a bunch of $$ doing it myself.
