I just had the 30 tooth sprocket change done and really like the difference. My questions are, does the sprocket change have any effect on accuacy of the speedometer and does the 2009 have a cat in the head pipe? Thks, Chuck

correct , my dealer says that the '09 t/g will be still affected by the
rear brake switch recall. he says they are going to do them all.
no parts in to the dealer for 3-4 weeks,
as he just heard about it. the CAT is too close tothe brabe switch
and the heat is melting switch and wireing. just info.

I believe that the odometer will be racking more miles than are actually traveled also.

I'm wanting to do the change also and am thinking about the Dakota Digital Electronic Speedometer Adjustment Module.

Why couldn't you upgrade to the 2011 factory speedo sensor (or whatever it is that signals the speedometer)?

Don't they still use a device that senses the speed of 4th gear in the transmission?

They use a speed sensor in the transmission, the speed sensor senses the speed before the final drive which is the sprocket on the transmission and differential.
