Do you have a Renegade with the lock in the right side of the trunk ?
A picture is worth a thousand words.....

Welcome to TT Lighnin' and greetings from Long Island. If your lock is similar to my '10 TG, which was updated with a '12, then, yes, that lock stinks. I recently had it replaced with stock. Still a piece of crap and hard to install. Haven't run across a good substitute yet.

no the lock is in the center. I just got this thing Saturday so really don't know much about it yet. Due to health reasons I had to trade my beloved 1700 Roadstar in on this or quit all together and that wasn't going to happen. And I'll learn about posting pictures after the pending knee surgery

welcome aboard Have the dealer fix the lock if you just recently purchased it. Worth a try

Seeing your location, be aware that Fort Worth HD had major problems replacing my lock when I passed through. And it broke again shortly. My local HD managed to get it correct. Lucky it was all still warranty for me.

His closest dealer is in Waco, TX The pisser since Adam Smith bought it back is the labor rate in now $125.00 hr. My suggestion would be to try either Jim's Cycle Shop in Axtell or call Cut and Shoot Customs in Conroe. That is Bazooka's shop. Seeing as how it is trike dedicated, I'll bet he can come up with a solution. And, he's only a few hours ride.
