2008 Roadsmith trike ?

I am trying to get the top trunk off to add a Backoff break light module to my trike but can't get the trunk off. I have the 4 bolts out and it is loose but it will just not lift off. What am I missing?

Thanks Dannie

Dannie I can't think of any reason the top truck should not come off once the electrical connectors are free and the bolts removed. You did remember to disconnect all those wires?? Also, this is the top trunk reinstall info from the install manual. Might help some..

Good Luck!! :xszpv: :xszpv:

Set the tour pack (with frame in place) using only the two top fastening bolts and nuts (do not tighten yet)

a. Roll the tour pack forward (hinging on the two top bolts) to access the tail light /license plate wiring. Plug-in the wiring

b. Open the trike body trunk and disable the latch (close the latch with the trunk door open)

c. While the tour pack is rolled forward, install the trunk release cable into the right side saddlebag cable bracket. Remove the lock mechanism access panel, then remove and discard the stock cable and the plastic cable anchor from the mechanism and replace it (routed the same) with the trike trunk release cable - be careful- do not kink the cable.

200 TourPak Removal

Keep us posted Dannie, need to do that same thing to install a brake-light modification harness on our 2008. Ours is a RS Conversion; the Trike body will not allow enough room for the lower tour-pak molding to drop down over the helmet holders. Need to get to the harness behind the trunk cover. Lookingforward to hearing what you find out...... THX. Hutch (ME)

Hutch I will let you know what I find. I woke up a few days ago with my left ankle hearting bad, turns out a bone spur and pulled my right shoulder before that so I have not been able to do much.
