Hello all - I have recently purchased an '08 GL1800 Roadsmith trike. All is great except for the Navi.

It turns on fine, locates the satellites and shows my position. That is about all it does. The "cursor/pointer" never moves to show our location when moving. Just sits there and says either ready or searching for sats. Then after awhile the map will update to show our new location, but by then we are already past that point by a few miles. Then it freezes again until the next time that it decides to update again. I obtained the Navi instructions from another member and all it tells me is that the speed sensor needs checked by the Honda dealer. Not really wanting to do that and I was hoping that another member here had this same issue in the past.

Thanks, Jeff

No, no, no. That is not allowed. You must explain what the problem was so we know how to fix it. Even if it was a Senior moment of just plain old DA stupid..:xzqxz::)

While taking the navi controller out of the tour pak, I found that a white wire/black stripe had been cut and 2 wires had been spliced in. I removed the splice and it now works fine, or it works like the '08 navi card should.

I wonder if that is the modification some did a few years back that allowed the rider to activate the NIVI even going down the road? When I had my '06 with NIVI I had thought about investigating that mod but that is as far as it got. The new 2015 does not have it so it's a non player now.

NOPE -- did some looking around. That's not it...... I did save the instructions but never used them.
