2006 Sporster/Frankenstein coversion project

The shorty Mufflers are really Loud. We want to get something a little quieter and that turn down so they wont blacken the rear end.

My wife won't be bothered by the noise, but I would like a tip that turns down. Now wish I'd maybe just got a swept down pipe for extra. But, the package price was good fron Frankenstein.
I looked on V&H site to see if any turn down tips available but nothing there. Looked through J&P, nothing. If anyone knows of a set that will fit on the V&H shorties I'd like to know. Folks, NOT lookng to replace the whole set right off so please don't start mentioning what I SHOULD get in pipes :)
On wifes old 96 883 Sportster HUGGER we replaced the mufflers with slip-ons from Cycle Shack that pointed down. We liked those.

The V&H BigRadius will fit, baffels are removable and can be modified for sound but thats a whole exhaust system , I dont know anywhere you can get just turndown tips. Frankenstein reall should offer a turn down system, I know I have suggested it to them, as excellent as they are on customer service/satisfaction this is the only area that is lacking.<br />
When I first installed the Frankenstein on my FatBob I already had the V&H ShortShots on it. They were loud but can be quieted down a little , not much, with baffel mods. Worst thing I found was how filthy the right axel would get from the exhaust. After a season with turn down pipes I have not had a dirty axel from exhaust.

icebite1,
Yes I had read your comments about axle blackening before, that is why I started looking. I imagine that Frankenstein includes these pipes because they are cheap and they probably get a good deal on a quality pipe. I have swept down pipes on my Victory and love the looks, but don't know if I want it on two bikes. I guess we'll see how much trouble the soot will be. Like i said, thenoise won't bother her! :>)

The wifes Frankenstein trike kit is done and looks FANTASTIC. Being delivered tomorrow. It's supposed to be in teens tomorrow! I stopped to pick up all the left over stuff and took some pics but wife won't let me show them until we do a few other mods.

Charley,

Somewhere a while back you had mentioned a cleaner polish that you use for your aluminum wheels. I can't seem to find that thread. It was some type of marine polish. If you could let us know what it was, we would appreciate it. Rena's Frankenstein trike will need some polish on the wheels. We had it out for the first time today, for training.

thanks Larry

Added some LED lights to the fenders.
They were made for the triglide, so I shortened them a bunch.
