1st Trike

I will be picking up my 1st trike tomorrow. I have been riding a 1999 Honda Goldwing SE for about 7 yrs. now, but I've been itching to trike it out for the last couple. My wife Deb and I travel everywhere together on the wing and love it, but we're looking for the additional load handling and stability we felt a trike would give us. We have chosen a Roadsmith conversion kit for our bike. We really look forward to reading the various posts here at Triketalk to help us prepare for the road ahead!

Welcome! You will definitely love the comfort of triking! But if you have been on 2 wheels, you should expect the steering to feel very awkward for your first 400-500 miles as you train yourself to actually steer around corners. So don't feel discouraged your first few times out. In fact, spend some time maneuvering in an empty mall parking lot --- doing doughnuts and figure eights, etc. --- then your neighborhood. What you don't want is to automatically "counter steer" as you have been on 2 wheels, as that can take you right off the road!!!
