1500 fairing plugs

I keep losing my 1500 faring plugs. Can anybody suggest an adhesive that won't eat plastic. I buy the ADD-ON chrome ones. And they stay for a while. Honda wants 28 bucks for the color matched ones. So I was thinking a little silicone or rubber cement on the screw head might hold it in place.

Mine get a dab of silicone every time I pop them off ..... it's all that holds them on since they quit holding on by snapping. I just dig the old out and put a dab on when putting back on. Holds really well.
