Looking to buy a good used 114 ventilator breather for the trike and was wondering if I had the get a fuel manager too. I’ve been getting back and forth answers of yes and no. So looking for someone that has done it or really knows the right answer. TIAIMG_7562.jpeg

That's a good question but unfortunately I don't have that answer. I'm sure someone else that can answer this will be a long shortly.

Ok. I don’t see in the other picture so I’m guessing I got something I shouldn’t have.
No idea what it's for.
Hey going to order a tuner. I’m getting to much popping and I have had the check engine light come on 2x and reset it. So I’m guessing I need to tune it. Not sure how others are doing the ventilator without tuning.

What codes? Should not be popping. Put back stock to see if it stops.

P0151h is the code. I didn’t have any problems until I changed the breather. At first I had a lot of high idol and a little popping. And today I took for a longer ride and it started popping more and the engine light came on 2 times and I was able to clear and I think it was the ECM.

Have you changed anything else like the mufflers or headpipe? If so you need a tuner. If not you might have a vacuum leak which would cause high idle and or more popping. Check the gasket behind the backplate.
Bike came with cobra’s and now adding the breather. But everyone is still telling me that I don’t need it.

The code is showing an out of range on the rear cylinder O2 sensor. When I googled it, I found a few others who had had changed both the mufflers and the air breather and was throwing the same code as it was running lean. I'm with Wmitz on checking for vacuum leaks first then if it's not that, you'll need a tuner.

Also did you take this bracket off or keep it on?
Has been 8 months don’t remember but I will check
Sounds like vacuum leak
Recheck your work if you don’t find anything put stock back on and see if it stops
Directions say to REMOVE bracket, did you?
May be bracket you asked about earlier.

No bracket still there. That’s what I was trying to figure out if I needed to or not. This is the way it’s set up now. Also the breather I have is off a 114 it’s not the se ventilator.IMG_7743.jpeg

It is a ventilator. That's what comes on Specials. It may be your problem. It spaces it out from the throttle body? Seal at TB? May be where leak is. It's plastic be careful when tightening the 3 screws first then breather bolts.

Ok I took off breather and took off the bracket that I have in the picture. And added the bracket that came with the breather (small and it only holds the wire that was attached to the other bracket) and reinstalled everything again. Now to be able to get out tomorrow and try it out.IMG_7667.jpegIMG_7655.jpeg

No where in the directions is there a bracket to be used and is not in the parts list.
I hope there is no damage to the throttle body.

Well the big bracket was behind the original breather. I just wasn’t sure if I needed to remove it before installing the oval 114 OEM Breather. I don’t have any friends that have that breather on their bikes to look at. So took it off last night and put the one that came with it to hold the wire in the back. Couldn’t Wait last night and took for a short ride and no popping for now.

Good! Keep me posted!

Well everything is great so far. I took that big bracket off and replaced it with the smaller one that came with the ventilator in its place. No popping or anything now. Thanks for all the help.

Sorry… little late to the party here, lol!

That bracket indeed requires removal.

Here’s the link to full instructions on the ventilator air cleaner kit for 17-newer M8 Trikes:

Sounds like you already got it fixed up. 👍🏻

The ventilator breather I had was off a 114 motor not the HD aftermarket one. So I was trying to figure out how it was installed on the the street glide special. But it’s all good now. Thanks
