16 TriGlide. Water pump went bad in 21. Extended warranty covered the conversion to new style. This morning Temperature light and check engine light on. Actually went out after I switched on Wards fans. P1019 code. Coolant level was checked pre-ride. Flushing has been on my to do list.

Manually cycled stock fans after arriving home. Couldn’t feel pump running and it was almost too hot to touch. Waited about 5 hours while doing other work. Manually cycle fans again no perceptible feeling of pump running. Next step is electric troubleshooting. Did remove the connection at the extension harness that’s part of upgrade. Little green corrosion.

Quick cleanup and still no perceived feeling of pump running. Tomorrow? Check for voltage at connections. I do have factory manual with electrical diagram. Is it really possible to feel the pump running? Has anyone tried and felt their pump running when fans manually cycled.

Yes you should be able to feel it running. I would bet it needs replacing again. But keep checking all possibilities,

If it’s warm enough it should be loud enough to where you can hear it when at idle. Definitely feel it blowing through the exit vents . Was it replaced with une newer version the last time or the long skinny one that was a problem.

Yes , old unit already off. Removed impeller housing, very stiff to turn. Removed rear cover to expose circuit board. No obvious burning there. Split off rear portion to expose motor coils ( had to snip wires to accomplish this, pump already bad ) nothing obvious burnt. I can’t pinpoint a failure reason. Going by the dealership to pay for pump , allegedly 3 pumps coming for their stock Tuesday. Wouldn’t hold one without payment.

Interesting, got a parts guy that knew how to work the system. Complete conversion kit with pump cheaper than pump alone. So I’ll have spare hoses , clamps , wiring adapter.

Read that and considered it. Maybe weak search skills but couldn’t find a source online. Every link I followed didn’t lead to that replacement pump. I was going to add that info to this thread in hopes of someone else having a direct link.

Edit: I reread the thread and someone did add an Amazon link.

I also think I read somewhere else the same info and a few people chimed in about the dubious quality of the Amazon alternative. Not that the Harley alternative is much better for the cost and life expectancy. I think I said I replaced first pump in 2021. Riding buddy corrected me it was 19 so 6 years of life.
