I have a 2016 GL1800 trike. I have my 1st burned out headlight. Going to store tomorrow to purchase a couple of bulbs. I’m thinking of getting LED bulbs for a brighter shine. Good or bad idea? If anyone uses LED bulbs and like them, what brand do you suggest?
Thanks,
Tony

If you want good quality LED bulbs, I would suggest looking into Electrical Connection LED bulbs. You would have to buy from them online. I admit they are a bit pricey but high quality and they are excellent folks to deal with. I used their bulbs on my last GL1800 for several years with no issues.

Biggest thing to keep in mind is how the LED bulbs interact with the reflectors. The EC bulbs are designed to maximize the reflectors and produce a very effective beam. Some of the cheaper ones don't work well with the housings. And I know that Pathfinder/So Cal also offers a GL1800 H7 bulb but their first design was problematic and the most recent redesigned bulbs mimic the Electrical Connection bulbs.

Went up to the nearest Honda Goldwing dealer and picked up a set of the pathfinder led lights. My son in law said he’ll put them on next week when he comes down to visit.
Thanks for the help.

I agree on Electrical Connection Leds. I have installed them in 3 of my Gl1800's. Here is a photo of them turned on in my current trike. Along with Pathfinder Leds in the back and front fog/running lights. :)

I was finally able to get my EC LED low beams installed the other day and am planning on doing the high beams soon. I have a good chunk of the front taken apart working on some other things so high beams should be a bit "easier".

Mike, as long as the front is apart you should think about installing a LED turn signal flasher. Because if and when you install rear Leds the bike will be ready for them. Plus, they also work with stock bulbs.

Probably not a bad idea. I already have the dash gauge assembly removed to do a navi LCD display swap to cure the dead pixels. The flasher will probably never be easier to change out than it is at this time.
