grease'nn up drive shaft (how often to apply grease???)

Burnerboy

I have a Roadsmith TRIKE, I'm just wondering how often any owner's lube up the rear drive shaft... There are grease jerks, on the shaft...

I will (once it warms up in garage / 40 degrees today, in garage) crawl under TRIKE, and give her a shot or two of grease, I'm an maintain'rrrr freak with my vehicles.. BUT I don't want to over maintain either...

I ride a 2010 Honda Goldwing 1800 cc with a Roadsmith trike kit installed 78,000(ish) miles on bike's motor itself, BUT maybe 30,000(ish) miles on the TRIKE part of bike.

Thank's ALL

I seem to recall that owners who change their oil every 2000 miles should also service their zerk fittings at that time as well 😜😜😜

But seriously, I honestly don't know. CSC as well as Motor Trike offer documentation for owner maintaince on their web sites but Road Smith and Hannigan don't. Not sure why. If it were me, I would probably do it yearly depending on how many miles I do or at least every 2 years minimum. It won't hurt anything. Although not quite the same, in my toy hauler, I probably grease the axles through a grease/zerk fitting at least once a year at the beginning of the season.

I see "what you did there" (about 2,000 miles of oil changes ;)lol) I always give those zerks, a shot or two of grease before every season starts, not sure if it's needed or not, BUT I seriously drought, it can hurt  I'm such a maintainerOHLIC, all my adult life, (I was 16 years old when I purchased my first car 1962 ford Falcon and motorcycle 1962 Honda 50cc I couldn't afford the money to fix it, so I had to repair it myself... My Daddy would always drill it into my head, that frequent oil changes and filter replacements, would help keep vehicles runn'nnn good for much long'rrr periods.. Sooooooo @ 74 years old, I still change that oil ~n~ filter much soooooon'rrr than recommended.. o_O

KD cycle told me to basically leave it alone. It only applies to when removing the shaft, has nothing to do with U joints, So, Kevin's advise is on a rare occasion give it a pump, definitely doesn't need it every oil change.
