John Lehman's wife's trike

A colleague of mine just shared the story of her trike. It's a Lehman goldwing trike, pink with a painted scene of Lehman's wife riding off into the sunset. She was giving me the story of the bike and the company, and explained this was the first bike he made for his wife to ride with him.

Is that cool? It sounds cool. I could see if she is alright with sharing photos

Mine was unique. Bought it at the Harley Davidson in Lebanon Mo . They have closed that one but still have the one in Osage Beach .

The dealer at the lake is Surdyke I think, didn't know the one in Lebanon was also.

There has been a Harley Dealer there for about maybe 22 years . It’s on 54 E hwy . My ex retired from there . Google Bike Fest it was this last week and is over today

I went back into the records on this forum and found posts on the first Lehman trike.

Lehman # 1 Trike

Today I was out and about and stopped by my usual dealer to pick up some bling for the bike. They have the original Lehman trike on their showroom floor. I took some pictures with my new phone but so far have not been able to transfer them to my computer for posting here. I will post pictures...

Post #12 shows Lehman#1 currently being displayed in Tempe, AZ. at D&D Discount Motorcycles. It was acquired by D&D when they bought the remnants of Champion Trikes a couple of years ago.

So that's where it is now. I remember it was at the headquarters in Spearfish South Dakota, then in the hands of Champion and I lost track of where it went from there, my guess was it found its way into a private collection or museum.

I agree, a museum seems fitting for it. She said it was purchased by an ex partner of hers for 10k, then he didn't want to repaint it, so she bought it from him for 10k. She's had it since 2015

I agree, a museum seems fitting for it. She said it was purchased by an ex partner of hers for 10k, then he didn't want to repaint it, so she bought it from him for 10k. She's had it since 2015
