the 1970 Vega's were. After getting back from SEA a buddy had bought one and it was THE worst performing car I'd ever seen. I was sure the days of high performance cars were gone forever! Boy, was I WRONG, performance eventually made its way back to the street. Now we have cars approaching 800 HP at the dealer. How much more performance do you think the car manufacturers can coax out of internal combustion engines?

I once owned a car that was so bad that calling it a dog would have been a complement...... Renault Dauphine! I think it was a 1959 model. Happy day when I had cash in hand and watched it crawl away down the road.....

I had a Vega and granted it wasn't a tire burner, but it ran very well [ minus oil consumption]. The body was rusty, so rusty that we would put beer cans in the holes on the top of the front fenders and it would whistle going down the road. I sold it to a friend of my wife, and she drove it to Georgia when she moved, the state finally made her park it because of the smoke lol.

Oh my goodness….. the worst car ever made. Engine in the trunk that could barely push the car up a hill. I feel your pain.

I had a 1975 Chevy Vega, darn thing was under-powered and had no guts when on the interstate. I had a 1982 Chevy S-10 with a 6 cylinder and that little truck had more guts. It was easy to work on as there was none of this computer garbage on it.
