Down To One Code

Changed my handlebars (had the usual set of problems with wiring, codes, blah blah.) I’m now down to one code that’s bugging me.)

b2285 is the code. I can clear it, but it comes back. Everything works, and bike runs good. The catalytic converter has been removed, oxygen sensors screwed back in. Don’t know if this has any bearing on things? Also, no check engine or red light on to indicate a problem. Only know it’s there by scrolling through the diagnostics. (I know, just don’t scroll through your diagnostics. Ha! Thanks…)

Seems there was a similar post back in 2019. It's found here: https://www.triketalk.com/forum/threads/53937-Code-b2285h

Hope this helps.

Talk to your dealer about the DTC you have, I believe HD has a software problem that needs updating

Your code if a 2019 model or newer is,

2019 Trike Service Manual Supp lists DTC B2285 as Rear Brake Configuration (Fault Condition) Solution: No Vehicle Power or Lost Communication Diagnostics.

THis is triggered by a low voltage signal

Thanks for response from both of you! Jack, I think you are on to something. I got a recall notice in December and was waiting for warmer weather to take it in. Recall # 22V781, brake light(s) may illuminate regardless of whether the rider applies the brakes. I also read somewhere that the brakes may also possibly engage on their own. They don’t list any codes. This may be throwing that code!

I will post how this turns out after I get into dealer for recall work. Going to be awhile. My wife and l are heading to the redwoods in Northern California this weekend for our anniversary. (45 years!)

Make sure you mention the service bulletin M1490, see what they say
