Champion vs. Roadsmith

Can use some help trying to decide which trike kit is best. Can people give me their best opinions of which kit to install on my Honda VTX 1800? And why.

Honestly, if you lined up all of us, we would probably all tell you that we got the best one....LOL! Each of the major manufacturers builds a great product! All are a little unique from each other, and that's what makes it such a personal-opinion thing. My kit is the fixed suspension from Champion, and I have had absolutely no problems with it, and recommend it highly. A couple of specifics that might help us help you out......
  • do you want independent suspension or fixed suspension?
  • will you be riding solo or 2-up most of the time?
  • do you want to install the kit yourself or do you want a shop to build it for you?
If you are going to take it to an installer, you may want to select the installer first -- the quality of installation is probably the most important thing! Not all the shops have contracts with all the trike manufacturers, so if you find a well-recommended installer, narrow your kit choice to the brands that installer works with.

don't have any experience with Champion. We have been riding a GW 1800 / Roadsmith for a year now and love it. NO REGRETS!! Would do it again. The only other Trike Kit I have had the opportunity to ride that I would consider is a Motor Trike. Still like the Roadsmith, if you have questions about your installer call Roadsmith or Champion.
Hope you make the right choice and happy riding.
just sayin jt

Very happy with my Roadsmith...before, during and after the purchase ThumbUp. To me independent suspension, wheel base, trunk space and their product knowledge was the deciding factor. I'd do it all over again :D
