About that new ECM code download to stock Tri-Glide

I have a question...added it to the ECM download thread...but no answers. Hoping this will get answered.

I had this done a few days ago (newer ECM download update) and I could swear the engine sounded different. Exhaust sounds louder, lower, throaty. Is that my imagination? I swear it sounds different.

The putt-putt at idle seems more pronounced, too. This is the best I can describe having this new code put in our 2011. Kind of driving me nuts thinking like this without a knowledgeable person stepping in with some real thoughts on the matter. I'm a noob, but I suppose it could sound different since that ECM thing is controlling air/fuel/exhaust mixture, right?

Also the timing could have been changed so I believe you are probably correct in that it sounds different.

Grapevine says there was an issue with the original 044 ECM file up to the 2011 bikes.

The newer file fixes the internal switching issues for the calculation profiles which serves the VE tables. In short, it was a software hic-up so your motor is now adjusted to breath a little better thus it sounds different. The timing tables were not affected, just the air and fuel equations.

Those with flash type tuning devices need not go get this flash as the flash type tuner has already fixed the issue. The plug in type tuners such as a PCV will override the issue or mask it, again no worries as long as there is an autotuner for the plug in type or you had the bike on a dyno.

And here I thought Harley had it in for me when I 1st got my Trike. They even had the nerve to tell me it was operating as designed, I feel so lied to and violated now;).
