Hello from the Bluegrass

Glad I found this site. My wife and I have talked off and on for about a year about having a Hannigan conversion on our 2007 BMW K1200LT. We are both 67. I have taken the LT on long trips and love it for that. Locally I pretty much ride my GS. I am no longer comfortable 2up on the LT. Just too much weight. I have dropped it 3 times in the last 4 years; all 2up. I'm having difficulty accepting the "trike" concept. Guess I just love to lean into the corners too much. However, having my wife share my rides and keeping her safe are paramount. I hope to gain some helpful insight on this forum.

Welcome to the forum BGR. The Hannigan conversion looks very nice on the k1200lt. When I was having my 09 Venture trike, I saw a 2000 K1200 that looked very nice. I say go for it if your wife like it too. You will definitely like the trike over two wheels. Good luck on whatever you do.

Hello Ray, welcome to the Trike Talk Forum where you will find all of the friendship and knowledge you desire. As mentioned above, there is a bit of an adjustment when converting over to the trike but isn't your wife worth it? My wife and I are your age and truly enjoy our Trike. It has become our #2 form of enjoyment with visiting our children and grand children being our #1 enjoyment. You may want to check out some of the threads in the Forum that address specifically the features to think about before making your decision. Good luck and keep asking your questions...
