I know you guys up north are use to this kind of stuff...hey, it may even be considered warm for some of you.

But this is just not normal for us down south.* In the 30 years we've been in Mississippi I do not remember it ever being this cold!

Earlier this week we were going to do some testing on a new part and had to delay it til next week...now this. So it is likely week after next til we can get out and do some road tests.

Discretion is the better part of Valor.............And sometimes when it gets cold it takes too long to suit up for the ride...Especially for a shot ride where by the time you suit up you could have been there and back....

I would take some of those temps right now, we have been in a deep freeze for the last week and half, single digits for high and way below zero at night, woke up one morning and it was a minus 11, this morning was minus 6, this week end we will see minus 14 at night, looking forward to next thursday or friday, daytime highs in the teens, yessssssssssssssssss. That is why when I park the bike for the winter it stays park all winter, we used to have days in the 60's but to much of a hassle to get it off the jack and uncover and then have to park it again, I like to ride but I just park for winter and wait for spring

All for now Trampas

It's a balmy 37 here in Port Aransas TX. They are closing up everything. Supposed to get down to 14 with freezing rain Monday. They don't have the equipment and skills to handle it.

We were supposed to move Monday but we talked the cg into letting us sit a while.

This old boy from Michigan used to race cars on the frozen lakes but I'm not up to moving our toy hauler 200 miles to the Hill Country on icey roads.

I suppose you saw the big pile up in Fort Worth Thursday morning. You are right about Texas not being able to handle it. Take care, see you guys when it warms up.

Good call John! Ice is breaking down tree limbs...right now we are up to 26*. Supposed to get REALLY hairy around here starting tonight...looking for 7* for low Sunday night, 6* Monday night, up to 21* Tuesday night with continued ice and snow. They are predicting up to 5” snow at Kerrville... totally unheard-of around here.

We drove to Boerne on I-10 yesterday...was ok then... would not trust it today til probably Wednesday.

Kinda looks like a Tuesday.

IT’S THE BIG ONE MARTHA!!!!

Yessiree... this super cold mass has taken the cake in the south!

It's cooling a bit here in the desert S.W. too. Sunday's high is only supposed to get to 67. The ride captain for our usual Sunday ride called it off this week due to cold weather! What a wuss. I'm riding anyway. As long as it's not wet or white I'm just fine. Looking at what's happening around the country make me thankful for where I live. Come July and August..... that's a different story. Stay safe and warm..... Jim

Mighty MIKE

The whole country is cold. Just talked to my daughter in Texas and they are expecting several inches of snow

this evening. Churches cancelled for Sunday, schools going virtual for next week.

I think maybe it has something to do with Global Warming. Just ask Big Al Gore. NOT!!

Thanks. I was just about to reply with a bad word, but COLD sums it up politely. :cold:

Hey........What doesn't kill you will make you Stronger ,Just Like us Northeasterners..(Muscle)

But if it does kill you!..Then all bets are off...:D..

If I heard correctly, our low in the morning is supposed to 5 with 6-8 inches of snow starting Monday thru Tuesday. I know you southerners are not used to the cold but my sympathy button isn't working right now, it's frozen:laugh:.

I remember when we lived in Temple Tx. back in 1985 and it snowed 5". After that we moved back to Chicago = I forgot how great it was to have snow for Christmas - and the rest of the winter for that matter.

Did I mention that I LOVE SNOW??

I ride all winter here if the roads are dry - doesn't matter what the temp is. Last Jan. 1st 5 friends and I rode my "Freeze Your Ass Off" ride and it was 28* and the roads had dried off.

I recall a couple of really really cold winters. Showing my age of course but I recall Christmas Eve in Memphis and the low that night was -13 degrees. YES that is 13 degrees below zero. Yikes!

And the first winter in our new house (1985 but don't recall the specific date) it got down to several degrees below zero and of course the water pipes where they were not diligent in applying insulation froze and when thawed we discovered that the copper line had split and our garage was flooded. Fun times, NOT!

I hate cold weather.

I have rode to work with the temps at 25 degrees in the mornings, doing 80 on the interstate. It's not bad if you dress right, but I try not to ride below 32 just for safety sake if it's wet.

The best riding season is the one that never ends.

I rode to work once when it was 17.It was only a 15 min ride and I had been riding as the temps got gradually cooler.I got several comments that day.

One of the other managers always seems to get to work when I do and he always says " There's gotta be a point when it's just too damned cold to ride" to which I respond, "There may be but I ain't found it yet". LOL

Living my adult life in Ohio I have rode in some very cold weather ,as low as the teens. But I was just out of my teens then fast forward 50 years and all ya all can have the cold weather riding ,been there done that.

I have people come up to me all the time in the winter and ask......Aren't you cold?...

I just smile and say not yet.....And besides even if i was i would never admit it..:D..
