I have that same back lash issue you mentioned and I have the Baker unit.
I am thinking about going with the Darkhorse unit or the solid front sprocket.
Road Dog, I would appreciate any additional feedback you have.
So far so good, A lot less noise than the stock one , really no moving parts , still get the noise of the clutch plate's rattling in the clutch basket , pull in the clutch that stops , I used a hayden primary chain adjuster I have used them for years no problems , for $ 500. its worth a try and it can be rebuilt for less than $100.
Sounds like it may be a good option.
The decel backlash I get is my biggest complaint.
decel backlash to me is the primary chain out of adjustment ??
That's what I thought too, but I asked my local shop and he said the comp should take care of that.
I actually have the Baker Attitude Adjuster in it.
Just turned 9500 miles and dealer said I need to replace the compensator. Dealer said about $500 to $600 does that seem correct? Doesn't really matter since the ESP will cover it. Just curious.
Also, does 9500 miles on the clock but using the front brakes 90% of the time seem wrong that the dealer says I need all new pads AND rotors? I think it's ridiculous.
thanks

That mileage using the front brake mostly the front pads could be worn enuff to replace, I would measure them and the rotors and compare the specs. The rotors and your comp sprocket should be covered under your warranty, the pads are a wear item tho
Jack - Dealer said the rotors are a wear item and not covered under ESP but the compensator is. Rotors are listed in the ESP brochure though. I'll see what the general manager says.
A gal in our chapter also has a TG and has 16K and the pads seem to still be OK.
MDO - I haven't noticed any thing out of the ordinary with any of my brakes. No squealing, no pulsating, nothing but smooth stopping.
My Straight Talk ESP lists rotors as covered, good luck with your dealer![]()
They are Still have problems with compensators.. That was the last straw for me and move on from the TRI.
If I had to replace another comp I would go with the Baker Built . The Harleys get revised and revised and still dont get the oil in the critical areas. JMO..

My 2020 started making noise 6000 miles sounded like xtra parts in the primary , I bought a dark horse crank works man o war motor sprocket $500. & a hayden primary chain adjuster $120. Its a lot quieter seems to have more torque , The stock one has so many parts just in there clanking around , check out the dark horse , the screaming eagle one is not much better then stock , baker makes one that's pretty good , this one has a lot less pieces and its lighter . I will see how long it last ?
Well ROAD DOG I jumped in and had the DH unit installed. Only got a few miles on it but I see what you mean about it feeling like more torque or maybe just tighter. The only noise I get is kind of a whirring sound. I still get a little backlash now and then but that may be my fault as it's so smooth and tight, I sometimes let the rpms drop to 2k or so. I don't think my cams like it there. Still need to put on some more miles.
is the dark horse a direct replacement or do you have to change the stator cover
mines still good , we have to get together for a ride I go to N H all the time ?
Check out Dark Horse website the man o war unit they make eliminates metal on metal with cushions like the rear belt drive comp sprocket.
