Can anyone give me some info on how to use the reverse on my Lehman trike. It is the mechanical unit on the right side near the oil fill. What is your opinion of this unit. Is the electrical reverse a better way to go? Thanks

The mechanical is the way to fly vs the electric. How about you take a picture of your reverse lever so folks can get a gander at it, I'm sure someone here has one just like it.

It's possible that you may have a Champion reverse set up, I know on the 5 speeds you have to have the Trike in neautral, then pull the clutch in and push the shift lever down (in) and back and that should do it then twist your throttle. Thats on a Harley Ultra with Champion set up. Go on champions web-site to find your mfg. & tranny. Hope this helps.....tis

The electric reverse on the harley tri glide has been troublesome .it tends to blow fuses when under a load. Also, the solenoid on the reverse has gone out twice on my tri glide. This causes the reverse to kick in while you are going foreword and can destroy the reverse motor unless you can act fast abd stop the trike and turn the swich off.this is not a perfected design at all.It is one sore spot on the bike.there are about four others.

I agree it is not perfect, I've never blow a fuse or tripped the breaker. I've backed the trike up hills 2 up and even 2 up with my Aluma trailer hooked to it and had no issues with the breaker or a fuse. Makes me wonder if there are other issues with yours.

i have talked to several owners that have had a variety of problems with the reverse.Swich ,motor, solenoid ,breaker issues, have all plagued owners.Your lack of problems makes me wonder how many miles or riding you have done with your trike.mine is a 2009 with 22000 miles.I would suggest anyone owning a hd trike to buy the extended warranty.these repairs are costly.

I have a 2009 Tri-Glide with over 18000 miles on it and had no problems with my reverse and as for the "extended warranty," I see no reason for it.

the starer, the radio, rear brakes ,seat, reverse motor, swiches ,reverse solenoid, intercom covers, gasget on the trunk, etc have all been repaired and/or replaced under the 2 year warranty and extened warranty.this would represent over 6000 dollars worth of repairs out of warranty

msocko3 I will get a pic. It is the Champion unit, I didn't know anyone had replayed to this post. I thought I would get an e mail when someone posted to a thread I was part of.
