Hi guys,

Wow. I’ve been away so long. I’m so sorry that I just disappeared one day. I got a couple of messages asking how I am and about my Dad. Thank you.

Where to start. In the time I’ve been away, so much has happened. My poor trike has been sitting idle for months. I will try to keep this short.

Thanks for asking about my Dad. He’s not doing well I’m afraid. Beginning of last year he was diagnosed with colon cancer. He had surgery. We were all worried about his 92 year old body getting through that. He came through it with flying colors. He’s had multiple check ups all year and the doctors all said everything was great, including the one he had two weeks ago. But it was too good to be true. His bloodwork came back with signs of the cancer returning. He’s in the hospital right now. He’s weak and the doctors are trying to build him up to endure another bowel surgery. We’re all very upset. My mom is also slipping in her health.

On a happier note, the hubster was promoted to partner :D. Right after that, he decided we needed a different house. One that was better laid out for parties. He’s always wanted to have his entire office over for a bbq. So, we moved. We found our dream house. It’s on 10 acres in horse country. :clapping:. We have about 75 live oaks and all my neighbors have horses. I get to enjoy them without having to own one :D.

I will hopefully be a more frequent visitor now. I will fill in some of the gaps in my story soon. I just wanted to touch base and let you all know what’s up. Please pray for my dad.

Thank you friends.

I am so sorry to hear the bad news of the cancer, it is foul and evil and knows no bounds. Stay strong and pray. I will be putting y'all on my prayer chain. Good to see you back again;)

I was thinking about you the other day when I saw your name pop up in the members birthday list. Happy belated birthday.

Thanks for the update. You and your parents will be in our prayers.

Glad your back & sorry to hear about your Father's medical issues & will send positive thoughts your families way. Good luck!

Carol , it’s good to hear that you moved on up , congratulations. :clapping: That alone kept ya bizy for sure.

Dad being 92 , that’s a tuff recovery. Prayer sent to your family.

Carol, thoughts and prayers for your dad. Cancer is indeed a relentless evil but it can be defeated! Keep positive thoughts.

Welcome back TG...Carol

We will keep your Father and everyone in our thoughts and prayers it's like an old friend popped in for a visit.. God bless you glad you have your dream house and all is well there. Sorry to hear about your Dad, pray Mom gains strength as well. Dust off old Bear and have a little wind therapy for yourself please. Ride safe Fred

Carol, you've been in our thoughts here and we've missed you...sending prayers for your father and mother. Congratulations on your new home and hubby's promotion ThumbUp

Looking forward to hearing from you again soon... :wave4:

Carol..

May God bless you and your family and keep you all strong through these trials and tribulations.

I am so glad you have chimed in and congratulations on hubby’s promo and the new ranchita!

Enjoy the neighbor’s horses - that’s the way I enjoy them now too since I am no longer an owner for many years - I go to my sister’s house and hug up on her horses! :)

Thanks for the prayers and thoughts everyone.:) Nothing new about Dad’s surgery yet. They’re still trying to boost him up.

Carla, we’re really enjoying our Ranchita :D. We’re trying to think of a name for it. It seems like everyone around here has named there home. One of my neighbors trains horses, so right now, behind us, is a field with very young horses in it. They are skittish but they seem to like me :D.

Carol... Carla is right love the neighbor's horses don't buy any. I have been down that road with my daughter that is a complete different level of responsibility. More responsibility of which you don't at the moment. So nice you have stopped by us poor triker's in the frozen North. ride safe Fred

P.S. as always keeping you and all your family in our prayer's

Thanks Fred.

I am on the same page as Carla. I have always loved horses but never had the opportunity to own one. We travel too much to keep an animal like that. I will just enjoy the view and the occasional ear scratch :).

Dad is supposed to be having surgery today. I’m waiting for news.

Hi Carol, so good to finally hear from you. Congrats on the hubster's promotion and the new house, our thoughts are with you and family, hoping for the best outcome.

Sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my mom in Aug from cancer and even though she was 85 it was a tough road to ride. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. No one should have to go thru that now adays.

On another note, Congrats on the hubby promotion and the new house. Enjoy.

I was just thinking about your father and your need for prayer.... checking for updates on your Daddy pray all is going well... Fred/Jeanne

Hi Fred. Things are not going well. My mom doesn’t know what’s going on. She told all of us kids dad was in surgery. We were all upset and worried all day but it turned out he just had a colonoscopy.

The doctors asked her to come to the hospital today to chat. They don’t think dad would make it through another surgery. Dad wants to do it though. I’m waiting to hear what they decide.

Thanks again for the prayers.

I understand it gets to a point where you become the adult and they well you know. We are at that point with Jeanne's mom. Jeanne takes care of all of mom's meds and appointments. I pray all works out for you and the family.:pray:Travel safe Fred/Jeanne

Hi,

Just wanted to update this thread. Dad is out of surgery:D. They think they got all the cancer :clapping:. He’ll be recovering in the hospital for a couple of days but all is well.

Thanks for your concern everyone. I’m sure the prayers helped him through.

Thanks for the update Carol. It is definitely not easy watching your parents go through health issues as they age. You all and especially your Dad are in our prayers.

Stay strong and keep the faith...
