Two months ago I bought a used 2016 Tri Glide 103 ci it had 1208 miles on it when I bought it now it’s got 2300 miles on it. I’ve never had any issues at all since .......... but now to let you know what issue I am having is .......... The other morning I get on it to go for a ride I go about 6 miles and just out of the blue I’m going down the road everything is fine and I give it throttle next thing I know I start here in the motor race up but I’m still going I let off the throttle and then get back in it everything‘s fine but within the next five or six more miles it does it a couple times again just simply going down the road when I give it a lot of throttle I can hear the motor race up. I rode it back home bout 15 miles everything is fine bike is running fine not making any noises at all transmission sounds perfect the fluid in the transmission is perfect and clean since then I have rode the bike a couple times around and it seems like after the bike gets warmed up good then it wants to start doing the issue again but like I said The bike runs fine cranks fine idles fine motor sounds perfect no issues at all other than the fact that when I give it throttle it’s like I’m hearing the motor race up can anyone help me or have any ideas of what my issue may be

I had issues with the DBW throttle control. I’d be riding and it would throttle up on its own.

Clutch slipping? Did you maybe use wrong oil in primary or an additive that was not compatible? Just a thought, good luck.

If the engine RPM increases when you give it throttle, but you do not have an accompanying increase in speed, then it is almost certainly the clutch slipping.

Either the clutch needs adjusting/replacement or there is a problem with the fluid in the primary (not the engine or trans fluid).

The first thing I would do is pull the derby cover off and see if the clutch rod is moving the full stroke when you pull the lever. It could be your clutch slave cylinder is sticking and not releasing completely.

What does your clutch lever feel like?

Have you checked your clutch fluid?

2016 model should have had the fluid flushed ( HD recommends every 2 years)

What fluid is in your primary and how much?

If you haven't already, start with the fluids as has already been suggested. It wouldn't be the first time a dealer either forgot to put a fluid back in a bike or put the wrong fluid in one before letting it go out the door.
