Road Trip

I was thinking of riding from NJ to the H-D Museum in Milwaukee.

It's around 1900 miles round trip.

My longest trip on the Freewheeler has been about 200 miles (6 hours or so) for a day.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of trip. My wife gets a little nervous when other cars are around us, it doesn't bother me.

Any advice short of flying and renting a car would be appreciated.

Here’s an idea for you. Driving past Chicago isn’t for the faint of heart. I would suggest the scenic route of riding up to Ludington, Mi. Taking ferry across to Manitowok, WI and you are 80 miles north of Milwaukee at that point.

I would stick to mostly U.S. Highways and avoid interstates most of the way. Map it out up to Muskegon MI to catch the ferry there (Express) because it runs between there and Milwaukee direct. It would not make sense to go further north to catch the Badger ferry and then have to drop back down on the Wisconsin side.

That would be a really good trip but I wouldn't go until very late spring or summer.
