Wish I wasn't so tired after 13 hours in the pit. Christmas came early today. I had DK Customs send my Cooling Deflector Wings bare metal I then sent them to a plating shop and had them copper plated. I think they are going to look pretty sexy. They are clear coated so they should keep the shine. Can't wait for a day off to get them installed.

Kurt....post a pic when you get them mounted. This will most certainly be one of those really cool, one-of-a-kind, look.

Installed

I probably won't get a chance to install them till Monday at the earliest. As soon as they are on and the trike is all polished up I will post up some photos.

I lied. We postponed our trip out of town by a day so I got to install the wings. I like them. Thank You DK Customs and The Chrome Plating Shop of Miami, FL.

Have to admit, this is the first time I've heard of these things. What are they suppose to do? Seems they would redirect the wind away from cooling your legs above the knee. How do they attach? Come painted or ?

Looking pretty good there on the trike, couldn't tell much from the pics in your first post so to speak, now, wow

All for now Trampas

DK Customs sells these. They work well with the tank lift kit and direct air flow to the engine to assist with cooling. As a side benefit, I’ve found they also significantly reduce the buffeting behind the windscreen. They attach at the bolts that are at the front of the tank.

One time

I'm thinking I have just the right amount of copper. I only did this because I work in a copper mine and the wings seemed to be the perfect part to use.

WOW!!! Those look amazing. Makes me want to do something like that.

Can you please email me where you got them coated?

As Ron and Fred mentioned, the air that would normally go over the top of the tank, that can cause buffeting, is redirected over the engine, helping to cool the engine...8-15 degree drop in engine temps.

When it is hot out, they actually will help your legs above the knee be cooler.

Kevin, the web address for them is www.theplatingshop.com. They are triple plated and clear coated. I am hoping the shine will last a while. The owner is Eugene Rojas.

Thanks man! It looks really good. Never saw any of our parts look that nice! :D

I wonder if a person could just paint them and if so I wonder what kind of paint will stick to them?

Yes, they come with a standard powder coat finish. You can paint them, or as Fred mentioned, contact us and we can send some raw metal.

No doubt ask DK Customs to ship raw metal I'm sure they would Fred

Yep. :)
