Hi, I signed on few weeks ago and thought I'd better say hi.

I'm in the very early stages of getting all my parts for a v8 trike and found the site and thought could help.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to build my forks or go with a motorcycle kit.
Any advice is welcome

Charlie

LOL. Ya me and a friend are going to build it from scratch, he's a welder so it makes it easier at least.

Was thinking of using an in-line 6 I have outa old jeep but I think it would have a larger frame then I'm looking for. I'm a Bobber guy all tye way, at least until I got hit by a car and messed up my back. Now I am ready to build a trike.

Hi Charlie! Welcome to TrikeTalk, and as skuuter says, please keep us in on the progress from start to finish!

Charlie, welcome aboard. The decision is really based on time money and know how.

Well I rode a V8 trike at bike week this year and all I can say is WOW.... I think they are more of a weapon than a trike fastest thing I have ever rode in my life.... Welcome to trike talk and good luck in what ever you do...

Charlie, Welcome to Trike Talk from Oklahoma...Can't wait to see some pic's..WOW is rite with a V8 Trike I rode one 3 yrs ago and thats all I could say!! :)

I HAD a motorcycle front on mine, am going with a leading link. With all the weight to consider, I just dont think motorcycle forks are up to it, on mine anyway, not to say it won't work on others.mine bent and twisted....Its more of a hassle trying to find another set of forks that "may" work a apposed to building a set that will work

well I found a picture of this front end and think will go ahead and build some thing similar. Now all I have to do is find a way to mount the wheel and attach some brakes, lol. figure I'll use 2 front motorcycle brake set up running to the handlebars.

Thats kinda what I had in mind trikerbob or trikerdons web sites can guide you the right direction building one of these front ends and trikertroy sells them as a kit as well.
