Are Air Jackets in our future by government regulation ?

Here is a link to a vest demonstration:

It's a tossup for who will win - the nannies that want us in bubble wrap from head to toe, or the nannies that think bikes are too dangerous to be on the road, and trikes have to be fully enclosed...

I've had one of these for several years. Mine is a high viz yellow. I wear it whenever I ride, even on the trike. My biggest fear is forgetting to unhook the lanyard when I get off to get gas and then be the laughing stock at the gas station. Mine's gone off once. I was on a dual sport bike and had to come to a stop on a steep rocky road. The road was very uneven and I had no place to put my foot down. Just before I hit the ground it pulled the trigger and inflated. I felt like I was being squeezed by an Anaconda but it effectively covered my lower tail bone, ribs, back, chest and back of neck before I hit the ground. I fell on large rocks and didn't feel a thing. It comes with a tool to reset the inflation mechanism and I had bought extra inflation cartridges so I was quickly protected again.

Ive said this many times before.....If Motorcycles never existed and were just invented last week , They would be outlawed this week....

The people that don't /can't do anything , Don't want the people that can do to have fun..

It’s an age thing. Lol. My long term memory is great, but if it wasn’t for my phone telling me that it is time to stand or breathe I would be in trouble. What was I talking about? Jim

Yea, That jacket would work for me, I have a plug in electric jacket for long rides- only, And i cant tell you how many times when i dismounted for gas or coffee i forgot to unplug it.....If i had the air jacket i would also need to carry a 1/2 dozen extra inflation cartridges....... -:D

It takes a pretty good tug, but if you didn't feel it pulling before you put weight into it, it would engage. I've dismounted several times and felt the "tug". Just something else to remember, which is what we all need as we get older and more forgetful.

If I could find out where to purchase one of those I would:: Who sells them ??

What an excellent idea, hey anything that would save my body in case of a crash, would be wonderful :D

Of course WE ALL KNOW IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN TO ME.......

GRUMP ALERT.....

If i have to dress like Bibendum AKA; The Michelin Rubber Man.. Or light up my Trike like a Christmas tree, and wear a road workers colored jacket...I would not ride, Cause that means i'm riding scared...Sure i wear a Motorcycle jacket' boots' gloves' jeans and a helmet... Thats reasonable .......Now if you really want to be seen, Think about this, A woman is jogging and dressed in Hot Pink.... Bet you see/notice her a 1/2 mile away...

So for safety Motorcyclist should always:xzqxz::xzqxz: dress in Hot Pink....

I "just talked to the makers of this clothing, I'm thinking of purchasing the bright yellow blow up jacket vest, that goes over my riding jacket...last year I did have an accident, that I know, if I did have one of these protecting jackets on, I would not been hurt... (actually the reason, [after the accident] I triked out my bike in the first place)

Thank you for this info!

There is a kid in Knoxville thats been using these for years in road racing and they have done well for him.Hes 17 now and I contributed a few times to help the purchase when he was younger. If you want a testimonial I can give contact info.
