Glad to have found this forum and will be doing more reading than posting.

I currently ride a 2003 Harley UltraClassic, with many miles on it. I was thinking about getting a new bike, and my wife suggested a trike. Her logic was if I got one, I could extend my riding years.

So. I will be researching which bike manufacturer I would want, then which trike kit to install on it.

I really don't want a Harley Triglide, even though it is made at the factory. I want better performance, smoother ride, and great storage space. So I have my research to do.

John, Welcome to Trike Talk Forum.

Glad you joined us here.

I see that you are sitting out winter doing the same thing that we do.

Thinking about trikes and riding............

Hey John, Wife and I are going to be flying into Portland and headed toward Bethel for business the last week of September. When I come into your great state, she likes to come with me and enjoy some time doing the touristy things, so I thought who better to ask about things than a person who lives there! Any neat things to take in that would be great to do or see? I found out a long time ago when riding the bike in a new place was to pull over and ask the locals about things to do or places to eat where they do rather than the chain stores! A lot more fun and you get to meet a lot of great people that way!

Also since it is our anniversary week......its better to have her with me:D rather than left at the house!!!!

Maine In September

Bethel is about 30 miles from me. Nice area. What to do here in September, well, depends on what you like to do. Hike, boat, fish, visit different restaurants or just sight see.

Would you want to rent a bike and ride around, or use a car? How much time will you have?

My September is spent trying to get as many rides in as possible. Sometimes my wife and I ride to other states to sight see.

PM me with what you might want to do, and I'll try to come up with something for you.

Welcome to TT,

Also from Me. And also rode an 03 FLHTUCI for lots of miles. Upgraded w/ a 95Kit, a total top-end overhaul, lots of additional trinkets, and lot so of additional chrome. Also converted to a Trike a few years ago, best thing that we did!! But after lots of research, test runs, and asking lots of questions went w/ an 08 GL1800 w/ a RoadSmith Conversion. For several reasons I might add: 1st the RS is 8" longer putting the passenger just on front of (not on top of) the rear differential; 2nd the GL1800 is liquid cooled, 3rd the RS is IRS, not solid axles; 4th the RS incorporates the original on-the-fly air ride system as well as has the aux fuel tank and running board options both of which I would not be without.. For what it is worth hope this info helps some..... I read where your approx. 30 mi for the Bethel area, we are in the Winthrop area if you would like more info or would like to see the actual bike. Cam PM me. Again WELCOME! Hutch:cool::cool:

Tried a PM, but wasn't allowed. Tried to edit receipient and bcc list??? well no go there.

I live in Monmouth, so we are close. I would like to see your trike, so we'll have to get together.
