Installing new Monotube cartridge fork kit on my trike. If anyone has done this to their trike what did you set the preload at? Calls for 1 to two spacers on touring bikes wonder if 2 will be enough or should put three as it's a trike and a little heavier. Just don't want a hard ride on the front end. any advice welcomed.

I have installed a lot of the progressive monotubes in trike and 2 wheelers. 2 spacers will be good even for heavy riders and 1 spacer is a bit softer ride and will also lower your front end down about 1.5 inches. With the lowering of your front end you might get fender to lower triple tree hitting. I would go with the 2 spacers and you want regret doing the mono tubes. They work great . Just make sure you put the correct amount of fork oil back in . It is critcal on the ounce amounts. Just refer to your Harley manual for your year. Hope this helps Booggerbe (Ron)

Got it together based on your input I used one spacer per tube and lowered it about the 1 1/2 inch. Must say is a huge leap over the HD suspension well worth the cost. Stiffer but smoother ride, tracks very well. With the front lowered putting the center more forward makes the steering very quick. Thanks again for the help as I would have gone with 2 if not 3 spacers and would not have been happy.rsz_img-0731.jpg
