I have been riding a HD Street Glide since 2007. Some how I have accumulated almost 36,000 miles on it. Before the Street Glide I rode my favorite bike of all time a 1997 HD Road King. After 10 years of riding the Road King I traded it for the 2007 Street Glide. That bike had 88,000 when it was traded. Needless to say I love riding but unless I can make my wife comfortable on the back, I'm going to loose my touring partner. She currently has a 2005 Road King but is not able to ride much because of occasional Vertigo problems. I have decided to convert my Street Glide to a Trike. The conversion is scheduled for December when the kit is scheduled to arrive. I've decided on the Daytona, California Sidecar Trike kit after riding several conversion products in Sturgis, SD this year. Been researching Trike Riding Training information and I'm ready to join the ranks of Trike Riders

My concern is:
What exactly do you mean by, "making the wife more comfortable"?
Just adding a conversion is not going to change the seating position!
Or does she think riding 3 wheels will be safer?

Pete Welcome aboard. Glad you found us. That street glide will make a fine trike and CSC is a great conversion. Your wife will love it as will you. I suspect you will keep her RK to ride 2 wheels.

Welcome! You & the wife won't be sorry at all! I also suffer the occasional bout of vertigo - that's why I went to a trike instead of 2wheels to begin with. I feel much safer this way....if it happens on 2 wheels, I'm sure I'll go down, but the rare times it's happened on the trike I've been able to pull over safely and stop until it passes.

Besides, the trike is just FUN!!! ;)

Wow, my CSC Trike Conversion kit is here at the dealership. My first impressions are how nice the paint is and how good the suspension looks. If this thing handles and rides as good as it looks, I'll be a happy man. They pick up my Street Glide this Friday, what an emotional time. My fingers are crossed!!!

Welcome Pete, keep us infomed on how things are going with the birth of ur new trike.. Also we love pictures.. Hope things will work out better for ur wife, as I have a simular problem with my wife, but her's is in her leg. so we just ride when we can and enjoy being together...
Ride safe and enjoy.. there is a learning curve to get used to the trike usually around 500 miles or so give or take...

Welcome aboard Pete. You will love your trike. JUst a hey I lived in Boulder Hill from 1970 to 1980. It sure has changed from the place I knew then.

Checked out progress on the Trike Conversion of my Street Glide today. The kit has been installed and the belts are being tightened. Here are some of my first pictures of the project. My new Trike s/b completed by Christmas Eve, so I'll add the more pictures at that time,, Ride Safe... I think it's going to look sharpe!

Looks good Pete, now for some nice weather in Aurora to get that maiden ride in.

It will take a while for nice weather,,, will just be waiting for the salt to be washed off the roads. For now, will just be dreaming about Trips we are planning to a Road Run in Kentucky and Breckenridge, CO the week before going to Sturgis, SD for the Rally.

As anyone else noticed the number of guys that say they got the trike because of their wife? I know I did..but not with the intention of her riding with me, then I made the mistake of that one time...now I can't get away from the woman! Next bike..a unicycle.
Congratulations Pete..I know you will love it..

It's not finished but here are some pictures I took this morning. The EZ Steer or whatever they call it is next and Woodstock Harley Davidson dealer will be closed until after the new year. Of course I'll post the finished pictures and I need to find out how to add a picture that comes up with my user name? Merry Christmas everyone and have a Happy new year, 2011.

Harley Davidson Black Pearl Street Glide/California Sidecar Trike Conversion. My Trike is complete and I really like how it turned out. What a rush!! Nick the Tech who built it said the Trike responses well with the 103 motor. He liked it a lot more than the 96 cu in. motor Trikes he's built. If anybody is looking to have a conversion done in Illinois, The Woodstock Harley Davidson dealer has done a terrific job and is very easy to deal with. Call Doug Jackson , he's the GM, I think you will also be impressed. I'm glad I found this forum because I don't know any Trike owners yet and as you all know, it's nice to talk about your passion, and mine is riding. Enjoy the included pictures, I look forward to sharing experiences and information with members of Trike Talk Forum. Ride Safe!!!

"VERY NICE" Pete. Yes the 103 motor is a great asset to the trike conversion. Have fun with that beauty
