Can't post reply

When try to post reply, keeps telling me, quote 2 words to short, what is causing this?

That happened to me yesterday and I had 3 whole sentences written. I backed out of it and tried again - went through with no problem. Momentary glitch? They may be working on the system and it hiccuped for a moment... if it continues hopefully an admin can address it.

I get that every now and then....I just cancel the prompt and hit; Submit Reply ...

Then it go's through.......

We are working on this...Bob, where are you seeing 'stay on page'?

When i hit submit reply , A popup comes on saying your message is too short, And do you want to stay on page...I just hit stay on page and hit Submit Reply a second time, And then it go's through.. Happened 3 or 4 times...I figured it was just a glitch ...And never paid any attention to it till it was brought up by other people...

Specifically:

Does it do it when you are just making a post, or when you are replying and quoting somone's previous post? Or when you are editing a post you have just made. (I've had it happen when doing this)

When i am just making a post...And then hit Submit Reply......Like i said it only happened 3 or 4 times over the last few weeks...

You know me Zook, I take little gulches in stride , Is it something that has to be fixed, If it wasn't for someone else mentioning it i would just shrug it off as operator error [My error] And thats what i been doing till now......That said if you need help-$$- say the word...

Thanks Bob. I dont do this for the money, I do it because I enjoy it and have grown to love so many of the people here. Id be lost without this place, but it really does take a ton of time and man hours, mine and many others, some who are a lot smarter than me and are paid very well and are worth every penny.

Most individuals dont have the time or financial resources to survive and thrive in the forum business, so the site either goes down hill and fades away, or they sell out to the mega companies and it forever changes. Neither one is a very appealing option for me.

Two companies now own the majority of the really good car and motorcycle sites, Verticle Scope and Internet Brands. Internet Brands owns HD Forums among hundreds of others. They just bought a single forum, Web MD for $2.8 billion dollars. Does that tell you where the money is? Doctors and drugs....They fill the site up with annoying ads, pop-ups and such. They also sell upgrade member subscriptions.

Some are telling me to start charging for membership, but I hate to do that and run off members. What do you think? Is there value in being a member here? It has been free for 10 years and Im not sure people will want to pay.

I hope to stick around a while. Came close to checking out a couple of months ago, but the big man had other plans. FYI, stay hydrated and dont get too hot! My BP got down to 40, took overnight in the ER and 3 bags of saline to get it up to 55, high enough to release me. Talk about loopy feeling....still foggy headed and not feeling normal, kicked my butt.

Too freakin hot in that TX state :Shrug: Hope ya got A/C in the shop.

As far as membership fees go , gota do what ya gota do. Another forum has advertisement pop ups among other stuff to offset the cost. Don’t want to see that happen here if possible. Stay wet my friend 🍻

Got stuck in traffic on I-45, because of a bad wreck with fatality, traffic backed up for miles. Marge's Honda Civic overheated, A/C quit working and the car quit, turns out it had a defective engine block that cracked, had a recall but we never got notice since we were the 2nd owners. An hour and 45 minutes later we got to the side of the feeder road and laid down under a tree, two hours after that the ER. It was probably 125 degrees inside the car.

By the time we got to the ER my BP was 79 over 40 and I was out of it. This pic was the next morning and as you can see if you enlarge the picture, it was only up to 55. I now know why athletes die from overheating and dehydration. Your BP gets too low and there is no turning it around, your organs shut down. I have owned my last Honda car. Thousands of 2005-2009 Civics have done the same thing. My bad luck was I was stuck on a raised part of I-45 with no way to get off it.

Thanks Randall, it was just a fluke situation..... Got way off topic, sorry about that but I have been meaning to tell y'all to be careful about getting too hot and its so important to stay hydrated, especially for older folks. I had no idea about dehydration causing a dangerous BP drop, never crossed my mind.

Now back to forum glitches...Are there any other issues that you are experiencing? If so, Tech Admin 2 needs to know about them so he can get them resolved. He has been working on the 'cant post reply' issue and thinks he has it resolved.

BTW, his name is Jerry and he is from Australia. He is a great guy! Please give him a warm Trike Talk family welcome.

I was riding with a group when one of the lady passengers became dehydrated, so I am over kill about carrying water when it's hot. A pilot friend of mine lost his medical due to problems caused by a heat stroke.

Thank God you are better.

Jerry, welcome to TT from San Antonio, Texas.
