So maybe this is nothing but just have to ask... for the past week when coming to a stop my breaks squeak. Not bad but you can definitely hear it. I've read about this problem for the Tri, but didn't know if it's common in the Freewheeler. Thought it might be due to temperature changes since it's warm in the day and cool at night. Any chance that's he case? Also I do a lot of stop and go in my commute due to the traffic situation so I'm sure this doesn't help :cxtv:

I taught Brake class for 30 years, that said it is the biggest complaint around
I have solved some and lost some
You need to clean ALL the hardware clean the rotors with hot soapy water
Re sand the face of the pads
DO NOT use any chemicals on the friction
Apply dilectric grease

To all pad backing plates and slider areas, no guarantee but it will cut the noise

Take an air compressor with a blowing tip on the hose and blow out all the brake dust real good in your brake calipers and around your brake pads. (Front and rear).

I do this on a regularly. I also clean and detail my trike regularly this is part of my routine. I also own a nice air compressor a must have for many reasons.

Brake dust build up can cause squeaking.

Got it!...probably going to start with the compressed air since it's the easiest. Then go from there. ThumbUp
Dont want to be a wise guy but that is just a band aid on a broken leg, not sayin I am 100 per cent but your noise will not go away for long plus the dust gets on everything wear a mask and gloves and eye protection

I don't mean to be a wise guy. But the practice of keeping the brake dust blown out or washed out is a good one. It's a good maintenance practice. Quite often brake dust build up can cause squeaking issues and is the only culprit of the squeaking. Sure there could always be another issue at hand causing the squeaking in the brake system. Why do you think old brake mechanics back when there were more drum brakes around would pull the drums and blow out the brake dust.

The brake dust just blows away it's a dry powder. Yes wear a dust mask, not a big deal and common since.
