Having a ProPad installed in the rider section of my seat. Tried a Mustang touring seat for 6 mos. Just didn't like the way I sat on it. On long trips I would start to squirm and, my tailbone would start to hurt. I've had Pro Pads on a number of my Ultras and Road Glides over the years and never had an issue.

Adding sheepskin pads vastly improved our comfort on the stock seat.

I tried the inflatable pad and could not get used to it squirming around under me .... even with very low air pressures.

I think Harley seat designers are of this type:

They design the seats this way,so maybe ,they can sell you a different one later.

Hey Mike, would you post some pics on your completed seat? I am watching how this works out for you. I have the new Airhawk (it helps, but want more). Also have Alaska sheepskin (better than Airhawk for me, but want more). Tried them both together, but that raises me up more than I want. Did you send your seat out somewhere or doing it your self?

To Late .................

Wish I'd seen your post before the install, I would have taken pictures. The way Bob does it, you cannot tell it is under the seat cover when he is done. No outline what so ever. He lays the pad on the base foam after removing the black factory outer cover and the clear plastic water repellent cover under it. He then lays the Pro Pad on the exposed foam and traces around it so he knows exactly where to remove the foam. He has done so many that he knows exactly just how much to remove so that once he glues it in place, the top of the pad lays flush with the top of seat foam. He then lays over it a very thin piece of soft foam cut to the dimensions of the entire rider section and glues it in place. That is why once he re installs the inner rain cover and factory outer cover, there is no seam to indicate the installation of the Pro Pad. He can do the same with the passenger section if one rides 2 up. I don't so I don't worry about it.

My back seat bag has never complained on a trip .........

;) If you check Propad's web site, they have a list of installers by state/city. http://www.thepropad.com/pro-pad-gel-inserts/

Thanks Mike, I get the picture now that the pad is being "inlaid" into the seat. Looking forward to your riding comments on it. Wondering if it will get hot when setting in the sun (have heard that about gel pads).

It won't. This is the fourth one Bob has installed for me in a factory seat. Keep in mind, the ProPad is not a liquid gel. You really should go to their web site and read the full description of its makeup. It is really a unique product.

And, what do the other guests say when you carry a deceased sheep across the lobby to your room ? :D .................
