Late nighters---unite!!!

Frank should be awakening about...NOW.

Unless he dipped a little too far into the honey bourbon. Then it might be an hour from now.

I've had a bad week. My girls are sick and I've had to take care of them. On top of that, I have an expensive Propride anti-sway hitch on my camper that's screwed up. And I mean SCREWED up. One side of it actually rusted in two, so it can't be towed. I mean I could tow it if I went out and bought a $400 hitch to sub for it while I get this one fixed.

I'm going to have to pull this one off, and ship it back to the manufacturer. He says he can have it fixed in a day, then sent back to me. But it has already screwed up my date with the RV body shop. I scraped up my camper last summer by not cutting far enough around a corner. Felt stupid. Then felt violated when I took it in for an estimate. Over $4K worth of damage that is basically cosmetic. And I HAVE to get it fixed because it's financed. If it were up to me, I'd just get the $1000 worth of working stuff (outside shower and trim), and let the scraped off striping go, and pocket the other $2500. But, it ain't up to me.

Tah-dah!! I'm here.

And just one more night until a short vacation. Tomorrow night would actually be an annual leave day if I wanted it, but I'm trying to save some time. I might work Sunday night as well. We take off for Chicago Monday morning. We shall see what happens.

Wow. Nobody on the thread at all today. Everybody must be busy.

Hope you enjoy your time off. We had some Airborne opns going on tonight about 300 jumpers and 3 heavy drops, as well as all the standard ranges. The best thing is no major injuries. Helps the night go faster.

Glad to hear they (and you) had a good evening. No injured troops is always a good thing. It would scare the crap outta me jumping out of a perfectly good plane.

It's been a long night. Gonna be a long day too. I've still got to remove that anti sway hitch from the camper to send off. I got the grass mowed yesterday, but didn't weedeat. Might leave that for Sunday.

Alright guys, still no trike. Another setback. You saw the picture with the body installed. Well apparently it didn't fit well. It required a stack of washers 3 inches high on the right side to make it level. Causing all kinds of alignment problems. That body is off and they have prepped and painted another body to be installed on my trike on Monday. Wish me luck this time.

Good Luck in getting the very best of craftsmanship possible. It is well deserved having so many mishaps working against you in the process. ThumbUp

And that is why I bought a finished Trike instead of having mine triked. Good luck with the new body.

Before I got on this site, I thought all trikes were born that way. Man, am I glad I bought a finished product.

By the way, I'm here, and I'm thinking I'm not going to work tomorrow night. May just take the rest of my vacation that's coming to me this week. Still haven't fully decided. Had a bad day today, and I'm whipped.

Sounds like maybe the relax time is just what the doctor would order. You don't want to stretch yourself too thin and become stressed beyond maintaining reasonably good health.

The bad day consisted of taking the hitch off. Had much more difficulty than what I imagined. More was wrong with it than originally thought also. This is the type hitch it is. Instead of just removing the hitch head itself, I basically had to remove the whole thing. It was a nightmare.

Then on top of that, when I took it to the shipping place, whom I had called the night before to check if they were open and told them if they were equipped to ship what I had (they assured me they were), the woman who was doing the 'helping' me was the rudest human being I've ever met. She had heard what I had, and had a bad attitude from the get go. She even complained about the coating I had on my truck bed (Line-x) saying it was making her job more difficult trying to weigh the hitch!!

Then in the end, she wanted to charge over $200 to ship it. Over $100 of which was her handling fee!!

Then when I finally said I would pay it, she refused to do the job, saying she didn't want to mess with it.

I was livid to say the least.

So this all means that it will take at least another week for me to get it shipped because I won't be able to do it until we get back from Chicago next week.

And now my computer is down. Resorting to other means to post.

Just wanted to say that I've been so wrapped up in my own problems that I've failed to tell Steve how sorry I am that his trike situation is so screwed up.

Scott, that's the weirdest sway bar I've ever seen. It it also the weight equalizer or just for sway? At least it has a lifetime warranty. The shipping cost on their site is $195, so your quote wasn't that far off IF she would have taken it. Was that a national firm like FED-UPS? I went back 10 pages to try and find the original with it. Never came across it. Something rusted??

Steve, that's a bummer about your build. At least they didn't try to slip that 3" of washers by you. Hope it ends well, soon.

Rusted completely though in several places.

It could had gotten us killed if I hadn't noticed it. He tells me they will fix it, but he was really blasé about it. Basically all I got from him was 'hmm' and 'send it back'.

Sounds like a rough day in the Scott household, and I thought building a new porch was going to be a hassle, which it will be. Just means a few more weekends gone, we just finished with a complete house remodel. Anybody get out to ride today?

No. The plan was to get done with the hitch early (epic fail), then go get it out of storage at the dealership. Since I wasn't able to get done until the afternoon, I thought it would be foolhardy to go get it being as tired as I was.

So, it will be at least next Friday before I can go get it. Hopefully they don't sell it out from under me. :qpnmt:

I run into the same problems, for some reason the plan doesn't work causing me to wait another week or at least a few more days. I did manage to sell one of my tow behind trailers today so it wasn't a complete lose. Now if I can just sell a few more things to clear out some space in my garage.

My biggest concern with this whole thing was, on Monday, I was supposed to take my camper into the body shop to get it fixed. That appointment was scheduled 3 weeks in advance. Now I'm waiting another week to ship the hitch, then most likely another week until it gets back. Then I'll be at the mercy of the scheduling of the body shop yet again. I only hope this doesn't get in the way of us going to Georgia to camp in July.

That would suck...

Most trucking co,s allow bulky steel itens to be shipped as is with only a secured shipping label. Just remove the chains and electric stuff. And in reality your intitled to a new replacement not a repair.

UPS doesn't. That the shipping label I'll be getting. I'll figure something out.

Maybe you could pick up an appliance box from a washing machine or refrigerator. You can cut and fold it as you need and make a box to fit it. I saved the box from my new water heater in two halves to put down when I crawl under a vehicle. I slide better then on the concrete, and it's not as cold !

Had a really good day today, got to push the button and the wife and I went on about 150 mile ride, just what we needed to finish the weekend. :pepper:
