Late nighters---unite!!!

Yes, I did a Stage One with S&S Stealth A/C, Fuel-moto head pipe, V&H Trike mufflers and a Power Vision tuner. The 30 tooth drive pulley made a big difference. The cam is not as high a priority since the pulley was installed, but I will know better when we take a trip to Floyd, VA later in the Spring. It's pretty flat here near the coast. Haven't had it in the mountains, yet.
Well alrighty then. A cam it is, maybe.

How does that differ from your regular duties?
Do you get a chance to get online?

Yes. There are two of us sitting with one client at a local hospital in VERY uncomfortable seats. And only if I bring my own way to get online. You do the math. ;)

Hello Scott. Still no trike yet. Today makes 6 weeks since I ordered it. I wish I had went to a different dealer.

Gosh, I sure do hate to hear this. Have you been in touch and asked how much longer?

The stage 1 also raises the red line to about 63/64 hundred RPM's, So you can stay in the higher Rpm range before you have to upshift...ThumbUp

One thing is for sure...it will make my head snap backwards if I give more throttle than I think I'm giving it. I know that might sound a little silly, but it happens. I have to be really careful when my special needs daughter is aboard. It could jerk her completely backwards without any problem.

Wasn't quite like that before the stage I upgrade.

Making plans for the next couple of days. On Saturday, my wife and I are going to take a course to get our CCDW license. I need to get her somewhere tomorrow to fire her little Remington .380. I don't want her firing her first shots at the range during qualifying. I seriously don't think she will have any trouble, because you fire 20 shots from 7 yards and you only have to get 11 ON THE PAPER.

Still, I want her to know how it feels when it's being fired, so it won't be a surprise to her. Then she promised me that she's making her especial fried chicken for me!! That'll make for a very happy husband...

For real though, I don't have to have a CCDW to carry concealed. I'm considered LEO and fall under the LEOSA law. But, some states/municipalities can be stupid about it, and I figure the more I have to back me up, the better off I am. She's wanting hers because she's having to travel more on her job, and is having to go to places that are out in BFE. I want her to have every advantage she can have while out there.

We don't use those fancy abrebs. It's either Full Cary or Restricted Cary. Any one south of Putnam Cty. Can only get Restricted. Only law inforcement is full Cary in NYC.
Then again there in there own world.

According to the NRA (National Rifle Association;)), New York is a red state that errs to the side of nobody is allowed to carry except an officer on duty. California falls under the red state category as well.

That's right you and your wife are going for your CCDW class tomorrow, I remember reading that in a earlier post. That should be fun, the wife and I always like going to shoot some of our toys. Have a safe and good day.

We both passed the course, and yes, we did have fun. She stressed like crazy over the written test. I was the first one done and missed zero. In fact, I'm pretty sure I was the only one that missed none. She missed four. I got the 'A' test and she got the 'B' version. Hers was harder. After I finished mine, I looked at hers, and it had questions I had no idea what the answers were. Obscure law questions! I was just lucky. She was mad she missed that many. I told her all that mattered was she missed less than seven.

The whole time she kept saying she was going to pass the shooting without a problem based on the fact she shot my old baby Glock about 8 years ago. I tried to tell her the RM380 was a much smaller gun with a shorter sight radius and would be harder to shoot. Could NOT get her to practice. Well, she only got 14 out of 20 shots on the silhouette (thank goodness she only needed 11). She kept shooting way low. I could tell she was trying to help the bullet out of the gun by dipping it when she thought it should go off. Afterward, she said "I need to practice".

I'm going to try to get a membership at the gun club we were at so we can do just that.

I'm glad it went well. Have you thought about a laser sight for the 380?http://www.crimsontrace.com/products/manufacturer/remington/01-4550
I love the one on my LCP.

I hope you can get into the gun club. The one near me put a moratorium on new memberships over a year ago.

Conspicuous in it's absence was your shooting score. Care to share?

All except one shot was in the nine and ten ring. The other was in the 8. They were all grouped together in about a 3 inch circle, so I poked a big hole in the middle of my group. I could only count 13 shots other than the big hole so I'll claim that the other 7 shots went through the hole in the center of my group. :D

The only other person to get as close of a group as mine was a 22 year old girl, and she was shooting a .22 single action revolver. No recoil whatsoever, so nothing threw her off balance. If I'd shot it, I guarantee ALL my shots would've been in the 10 ring.

Scott I do have my Summer Road Trip planned out west that is expected to take about 3-4 weeks and cover at least 8,000 miles.

Is your wife going with you on this trip? And what areas do you plan on hitting? Sounds like a trip worthy of Kevin of DK Customs. He's been to Bella Coola Canada last year, and to the Arctic Circle year before last. There is pic heavy posts about both trips buried here somewhere.

Hopefully you will post a pic heavy post when you get back. He did his with several hundred pictures, but he would update it a day here, and a day there until he completed his trip. The first year he tried to upload everything while he was actually out on the trip, but last year he waited until he got home and uploaded everything chronologically.

Something I've been wanting to say for the last few days: I have noticed that posting on the thread has dropped off somewhat. Trust me, I do understand that life gets in the way, and that there are many other places to post on this forum.

Having said that, I now want to say this: I hope that all my gun posts and personal posts are not offending anybody to the point that they quit posting on this thread. I want you guys (and gal) to know that I enjoy chatting with you all, and reading you all chatting with each other. Nearly half of the posts on the thread have been generated by me. So that gives me a lot of opportunity to offend. NORMALLY, I wouldn't care about that, because IRL I'm not a PC person, and that carries on into this forum as well. But with friends it's a little different. Yeah, I know I've never met anybody here in person, but for the most part I still think of the regular posters on this thread as 'friends', and I don't want to offend you--much...:D

Bottom line is, I don't want you to think I'm trying to turn this thread into my own personal gun blog or something like that. Lately, I've been a little (lot) doing that, and I'm sure I've been boring some of you to tears. If I have, shoot me (pun intended) a PM, or just come right out on the thread and say it...you won't offend me...I've got a thick skin. You have to when you work with the clientele I've worked with for well over half my life. :)

So there you have it.

Knock knock..., from Illinois.

What's up night owl? No deadline here and your posts haven't offended me. I'm waiting for a daughter and her family to arrive from Omaha so I have a little time to kill, no pun intended. :Coffee:

Welcome aboard Illinois!!

The name is Scott. Nice to meet you. I'm up because I have to baby sit a few people until morning. Easy job, just a little boring sometimes.
