Late nighters---unite!!!

Good am.
Bill's probably out playing his uke.

Good guess. Was at the uke jam last night. I'm getting ready to go play a benefit show (on bass) with my bluegrass band "Some Assembly Required" today for the Fisher House. It provides housing for veteran's families visiting while they are in the hospital. It is the Richmond Marathon Jam. 30 bands on three stages all day. Check it out.

Probably tomorrow, I have some pictures I am going to post on a new thread. While I was riding yesterday, I saw a Smart Car in a parking lot and turned around and got some pictures of the Trike parked next to it.:D:p

Wow. That benefit show looks epic! I would be in hog heaven. The wife would be in hell however, as she HATES bluegrass. I'd be more than willing to listen to her bitch all day to see it though, especially considering what it's benefitting.

And I'll definitely be looking for your bike bike/little car thread.

What a great benefit. I had open heart surgery for a bypass and a new valve and the wife stayed at Fisher House for seven days. They were fantastic.

And Consitter, I got a NEVER fired Kimber Ultra CDPII 9mm
for sale. I think it fits you just right.

Heh. I'd probably take you up on that, but I don't feel like switching calibers. ;)

The name is Scott. Glad to meet you!

BTW, that's a fairly rare gun being 9mm, isn't it?

Well, I reckon eighty80 took his Kimber and went somewhere else to play.

Anytime you feel like coming back and chatting, have at it. I'll be here eventually to answer.

'Bout time you got here. I was getting ready to go to bed.

The Fisher House benefit was a success. We had a full house for our set. The beer vendor/sponsor provides each performer with two drink tickets that we can redeem for a cup of beer or wine. After the show, we talked with our friends and had a beer. Went to Longhorn Steak House on the way home. All in all a great day!

Glad to hear all went well. And yeah, I was...distracted...for awhile tonight. But, it wasn't in a bad way.

On top of that, I'm cheating a little bit...I've been frequenting a Glock forum.

Rare as in???? I don't think 9mm is rare.
I have a 45 too, but I think it is sold.

Hey, you awake??

Always awake.

I'm talking about a Kimber 1911 in 9mm. I only know of their 1911s in .45 ACP. I can't find anywhere on their website that they sell them anymore. Maybe I'm just missing something. I know they make small guns that aren't 1911 in 9mm.

Ultra CDPII 9mm. Yes it's a small cc auto. I would not carry a .45 acp that small. Actually, I like the 4&4 rule.

About the true 1911, for me it would be a Colt, or Wilson. But I'm giving up all of my guns except the Glock 26.

What's the 4x4 rule? Yeah, I'm dumb, so I'll ask.

I carried a Super Carry Pro for awhile as my CCW. I was just afraid of getting it scratched. That's not the way you should feel about your carry weapon. Still wanted a .45 ACP, so I settled on the Glock 30S. It works well for my purposes, and I don't worry about scuffing it up (not that I'm gonna try to, but won't cry if it does).

So what keeps you up so late (or early)?

4X4 rule... nothing smaller than .40 cal and nothing shorter than 4 inch barrel.

Yea, that's why I am keeping the Glock. It gets abused and can still work.

Up late? Well I'm a USMC 100% Disabled Vietnam Combat Veteran and don't sleep during the nite much.

But I just deal with it, so I'll move on.

Thanks for the clarification on the rule. And thanks for your service!

We used to have another 100% Disabled Vietnam Combat Veteran that hung on this thread a lot. He passed away in a house fire back in October. He went by the handle of Dirtdobber. He never said what branch of service he was in. He talked about the metal in his legs though. He shared your late night traits.

I really miss the fella.

I worked rotating shifts for over 40yrs,before retiring in December, and my sleep patterns are still screwed up.

I still miss DirtDobber. The world's a lesser place without him.

Probably not. Gotta get kinda back to normal (?).

Have you ever been to a Mongolian BBQ place? My friend that got married yesterday took us out to one to celebrate. I hate "all you can eat" restaurants because I think that's what you are supposed to do, and I did !!

There's not any around here. We're lucky to have Japanese steakhouses. I've heard they are great though.

We went to an AYCE Chinese restaurant today, and I felt obligated to do it too. I couldn't hardly move afterward. I'm a glutton.

Drink a coffee, Bill.

We have one next to the grocery store where we shop. They vent the cooking tables out through the roof pointed toward the parking lot. Come to think of it, Burger King does the same thing.

I was over on the other site ogling a Kamaka Ohta-San cedar top uke. Ogle is all I can afford to do, but I like to live dangerously.

I've seen pics of them. They look beautiful. And what's dangerous? Surely you can afford one...or two. :p

We all have to make choices. Kimber, Kamaka, cam......
The trike is still picking up all my loose pennies right now.

You seriously thinking about putting a cam in it? Has a stage I upgrade been done to it yet? When I did that to mine, it gave it scuds more power all through the power band.

The stage 1 also raises the red line to about 63/64 hundred RPM's, So you can stay in the higher Rpm range before you have to upshift...ThumbUp

Yes, I did a Stage One with S&S Stealth A/C, Fuel-moto head pipe, V&H Trike mufflers and a Power Vision tuner. The 30 tooth drive pulley made a big difference. The cam is not as high a priority since the pulley was installed, but I will know better when we take a trip to Floyd, VA later in the Spring. It's pretty flat here near the coast. Haven't had it in the mountains, yet.
