Late nighters---unite!!!

I' a little late on the boot discussion, I wear a pair of Bates swat boots with the zipper on the side, comfortable and have lasted a couple of years. Where I work wanted to buy me some steel toe boots, made it mandatory that I have them, they sent me to the Redwing Store, so I bought a pair of Redwing engineer boots on their dime and use them for bike riding.

Either steel toe or composite toe is 'required' here too. The don't really enforce it, but I wear composite toe anyhow. I know if something was to happen and my toes get broken, my workplace would do everything they could to keep from paying me.

That's not to say I don't get pairs of boots that are soft toed though. I get a voucher every 9 months, and my boots last way longer than that, so I get a pair of wellingtons every other voucher. I'm considering getting a nice pair of hikers with the next one in August.

It's looking as if I'm going to. Supposed to be sunny and 65* tomorrow. Maybe get out and take a ride before the 6 more weeks of winter hit.

Happy Ground Hog Day to you and all the members here.

I've got 4 pairs of boots: the new Georgia Boots, a pair of U.S.A.F. Wellcos, a pair of Interceptor boots with zippers from Walmart and a tan pair with zippers from Kmart. The one pair from Walmart that got replaced were really cheap and not made too well. Where I work requires black shoes.

Howdy!

I'm just glad my workplace is willing to pay toward the boots we have to wear. And the fact that they give us a voucher with free reign at a boot store makes it all that much better. In 13 years, I've gained a LOT of boots. I've given several pairs away. Even at that, I've still got 3 pairs of Timberland Pros, a pair of Red Wing wellingtons, and a pair of Rocky wellingtons. That's just what I can think of right now.

Ground Hog Day

A happy ground hog day to everyone!

A ground hog story-no shadows included.

Years ago my parents were doing some yard work on their farm here in Virginia. My Mom was raking up grass clippings and putting them in big green trash bags. She turned around when she heard a noise. A ground hog was dragging a bag of clippings down the driveway toward his hole.
Must have thought it was a buffet lunch!

A little late signing on tonight...my computer wouldn't go to the outside internet. I guess it had to do with the fact I hadn't been on this particular computer in over a year, and never with my id card. Took a couple of hours before it kicked on.

A full night of boredom averted. BTW, I'm working O/T. Good thing too, need the money for property taxes on vehicles coming up. Yay.

Raining hard here. Only supposed to rain through the morning, but we are to get 1 inch of rain. Lots of rain in a short amount of time. Ground is already saturated from the melted snow. Flooding is a good possibility.

And so I come back here to make my 2,000th post. Maybe the title under my handle should be 'Professional Motormouth' instead of 'Icon'.

I'm awake, I made a cheesecake and now I have to wait until it cools to put it in the refrigerator. It has to sit out at room temp before it can be put up.

Cheesecake? This late?? You are a woman after my wife's own heart. She does stuff like that often. Cheesecake is one of her specialties, and she tends to make them at odd times.
