Heavy Duty Springs

Many will say yes to this
I say it makes the front to harsh! I'm running OEM springs and 36psi in the front tire. Very happy!ThumbUp
They all do wear out! Replaced mine at 32K with free OEM take offs from my installer!

Yes I have them on my 2015. And yes, I agree the frontend is harsh to say the least. Without spending a ton of $$$$$ how else does one solve the front suspension sagging issue other than beefing up the springs. Back when I had the Motor Trike I had intended to go back to OEM springs but the Roadsmith is so much longer wheel base that those springs can't hold the load. If I could get longer upper tube caps (maybe 2.5 inch) that might compensate enough. :xszpv: :xszpv:

I'm holding off doing anything until I ware out this BT45 I have on now. Going to try the Avon Trike tire. From all reports that eases the harshness some. :)

I tried the 1.1 Traxxion, way too harsh, maybe the 1.0 would be fine, did not try that. Went to RS Daytona, the installer took it for a ride, he said way too harsh, it would beat the front end to death, he said the OEMs were fine, so I went back to OEMs. That was an expensive learning experience. I haven't read much positive about PMTs either, so I'm just saying, why spend all that money when OEMs work? Just my opinion, not detracting from any brand.

Ive a lehman with a 3.5 degree rake front After I got it the missus and I rode a couple of thousand miles and didnt like the ride. With all of the construction around here all of the time the Honda springs were just too weak. My first choice I tried were Progressives. A good spring for the money. Adding the springs also gained me another 1 inch plus of ground clearance because the suspension doesnt sag like stock. But now when you add an MPA ot BT45 tire you change the ride. The bias ply tires let you feel every joint and ripple as compared to the Bridgestone radial which eats up the bumps and irregularities in the road. You can try running a lower number fork oil,I tried 5 wt and it was too weak but gave a nice ride. My next choice was I called Traxxion and talked to them about springs. Ive had a set of Traxxion springs about 5 years now. Theyre not much different than the Progressives and basically the same results. The last piece in all of this that helped restore a smooth ride like the stock springs and radial was the Avon trike tire. With Traxxion springs and the Avon trike tire to me it has a nice smooth ride and great handling. Yeah the MPA and BT45 are cheaply priced tires and ride Ok but they still dont have a smooth ride as a radial. On our trike I ride 2 up 99% of the time. Between the Missus and I we dont hit Hondas weight limit at all. But the way trikes are made with more weight on the front wheel and then add a rake kit, finding the ride for you can be a bit of a challenge.

I'd guess you were running that 42psi or so in those tires? Never understood where that came from? Try 36psi and you will see a huge improvement.

Tom I tried as low as 36 .I wound up because of lower pressures cupping the tire. Even at the lower pressure those tires dont ride as smooth as the Avon. I wont go back to them.

This really is a awkward question for this newbie trike guy, but really, I don't have anything to compare
between Traxxion and Progressive.

I left this up to my Roadsmith conversion guy at the time he did the conversion and he recommended progressive,.
radial Avon trike tire, and rake kit.
The nice thing is Larry and his wife ride a '12 trike Goldwing and been working on cycles since he could walk.

As is, I couldn't be happier.
