The Shell Rotella T6 is a fantastic synthetic oil. It is marketed as a Heavy Duty Diesel oil actually but several years back it underwent extensive testing and is now JASO-MA certified. Meaning it can be used in single oil setups where the engine oil is the same as the gearbox and clutch. This oil has no friction modifiers added as well as a great cost point.

One of our employees has ran the T6 in supersport bikes for years. One thing with this oil, you will need to stick with a regular oil change interval, don't try to push the oil past its acceptable lifespan.

My Tri-Glide Doesn't use oil??? And if it did i Certainly wound't put it on my Pop-Corn...

That right there is funny. I don't care who your are!!:pepper:

At your local movie theater, And they also on request will top it off with, 20/40 Synthetic Butter........

One thing to keep in mind with VW engines; they are a solid lifter engine and require a good high detergent oil. Now I am not sure on the Rotella oil detergent however I use Valvoline VR1 Racing oil in my trike. The reason that I used that specific brand and type is it was one of the oils that Engle Cams listed for warranty purposes.

Rotella is a good oil for keeping the engine clean. Considering how a dirty a diesel works and the oil works a lot harder in that kind of engine than a gas one,I think Rotella fills the bill quite well. The only thing to remember is its not a pure synthetic like Mobil or Amsoil but a hydro cracked version. And Ive never read about an engine oil issue on all of the forums I go to with this oil.

I've been using T6 for 400,000 in my tractor, moved over from Amsoil. And don't have any issues at all all, with regular analysis done between 25-30 thousand miles. I do use an Amsoil bypass filter, almond with the standard Mercedes filter. Standard filter change at analysis, bypass every other, adding oil as needed. With complete oil change I have been able to go 170,000 still meeting factory specs! Keep in mind I also use a Spinner II, which really helps with soot, and small partical removal.
