airbags.

I have a 2007 GW Lehman trike with airbags. Does anybody know who makes these airbags? (hope it isn't. Takata.) I asked at my Honda dealership, but they just stared at me,and shrugged.

PDF Sheet: http://www.goldwingworld.com/pages/airbag.pdf

I see no where about who makes it, maybe propritary Honda maybe used in vehicles also...... might see if a dealer parts dept and any knowledge thru their parts catalog verbage....

I am pretty sure that Honda will not disclose the source of the airbags and may actually use multiple vendors. I rebuild vintage carburetors and the OEMs... say Kawasaki will use multiple sources for their carburetors probably a low-bidder thing... Kawasaki used Mikuni, Keihin and Teikei carburetors within a few year period for no reason I could see. Yamaha used Mikuni and Hitachi carbs for the same model in different years.

Okay, I'm going to go a little off track here...

I read the link about the airbags, and it seems to me that if you are at a road speed, all they would do is basically catapult you higher in the air than just going over the fairing. Of course most crashes are at lower than highway speed, but still, I could just see a person sliding right up and over the deployed bag.

Yes, I over think things. It's what happens when you live life on midnights.
